I layer sheets and blankets and bedspreads to get the warmth I need no matter the season. I have pets who get on the bed and sleep with me. I used to get the thick luxury comforters and quickly found to my dismay that I could not fit them into my washing machine. I would have to take them to the laundromat which was a huge inconvenience . Especially since I like to wash it at least once a month or oftener due to the pets. As I was putting this bedspread on my bed this morning it brought back memories of my childhood and my grandma and her chenille bedspread. I love it and would buy again. **Q: Do I need to buy the shams if this bed spread fit's a Queen bed ??**
A: I  love the spread!  I bought a king size for my queen size bed  and it  fits perfect. At first I was going to get the shams but they were on back order. The spread,in my opinion, looks great without the shams.So I canceled the order for them

A: Hello,  The bed in the picture looks like there is a comforter underneath.  When you get this you need to wash it and tumble dry it to fluff up the fuzzy part (Chenille is the french word for caterpiller).  The base part is medium weight cotton, but when you add the weight of the fluffy part this is definately on the heavy side.

**Q: Is it heavy or light weight?**
A: Lightweight but very well made. We use it year round and add a light blanket in the winter. You will love it.

**Q: It shows pillow shams but doesn't come with any. How do I get pillow shams?**
A: Hi, just type in Beatrice Home Fashions Medallion Shams in Amazon. They will pull up. I LOVE the bedspread! Have washed it several times, and it comes out beautifully. Yes, it still "sheds" but that is what these types of spreads do.

This bedspread is the perfect size for my bed, which has an extra deep mattress. Most fall short of covering the bed, but this one is plenty large enough to cover the bed and almost touch the floor, which is exactly what I wanted. I hesitated to order it because I had read negative reviews about the bedspread being thin enough to see blankets underneath, but that's not the case. I did go ahead and order the King Size pillow shams, but the bedspread is plenty long enough to cover pillows without the shams. It washed and dried beautifully. Very happy with this purchase. I chose the King Size Sage color and it's a soft pale green which was the color I was going for!
