I bought the Vansuny 512GB mainly to move files between my desktop and friends and family's devices, I am basically the local IT. It’s been a pleasant surprise. For something this small, it’s really fast. Transferring photos, videos, and work files is way faster than using a regular flash drive or older external hard drive. I will provide some benchmarks to compare with. One thing I can really appreciate is the dual USB-A and USB-C connectors. I'm a little oldschool so I never realized how convenient that would be until I started using it; no adapters, no extra cables, just plug it into whatever device I’m using and go. Super dang handy, especially if you format it to FAT32, you can use it with any phone that has a USB-C (no OTG dongles! whoo!) The drive itself is tiny and fairly light weight, so it’s easy to throw in a backpack or pocket without worrying about it. However it still has some heft to it, feels sturdy enough that I’m not afraid of it getting knocked around a bit if I just throw it in a bag when crunching time. A couple of things to keep in mind: Now, 512GB fills up faster than you’d think if you work with a lot of big files. For heavy media use or you just generally transfer large files regularly, you may want to consider the 1TB version. It does get a little warm during long transfers, but nothing alarming. Infact the metal casing acts as a heatsink, which is a very smart design. There’s no extra software or special features — it’s a straightforward storage drive. Overall, it’s been a solid buy. If you need a fast, portable, no-nonsense SSD for everyday use, this one does the job really well. I’m already considering picking up a bigger one later on. As for the benchmarks, Drive G (the first photo) is the USB SSD. Drive E (my internal SATA WD SA510, similar speeds to my old Samsung 860 Evo). I never expected it to be as fast as proper SATA SSD's, but all in all, for the price and convenience, it's a great purchase!

It works great with no issues whatsoever. One of the standout features is its portability. Weighing only about 40 grams, it’s easy to carry around in your pocket, which makes it super convenient for on-the-go use. For comparison, most standard-size drives weigh around 9 grams, so this one strikes a good balance between size and functionality. The build quality is another strong point. The drive feels sturdy and well-constructed, which adds to its durability. Plus, having both USB and USB-C compatibility means I don’t need to worry about carrying an extra cable. It’s plug-and-play, which is always a bonus for me. The only downside I’ve found is the lack of a lanyard attachment location. It would be nice to have that option to easily attach it to a keychain or bag. Overall, this is an excellent product that combines performance, durability, and convenience. Highly recommend!

I don't have an easy method of verifying their read/write claims, but I've been using it for Windows 11 and Linux boot disk duties and it seems to be the fastest drive I've used so far. The housing is indeed aluminum and pretty sturdy. The end caps are also aluminum, though I'd have preferred a more authoritive indent on the hinged side and a magnetic capture for the loose USB-A cap to prevent it wanteding off. Other than that, I can easily recommend this drive, both for the quality and the extremely useful dual ends.

It worked fine for a while, but I dropped it one time (from waist height) and it's completely dead now. Neither side works. I expected better build quality due to the metal housing, but alas, here I am without a flash drive. I think the metal housing is actually to blame here, as the impact was only fatal due to the extra weight. I've got older drives that got completely smashed open and still worked for years after the fact.

At first glance this Vansuny SSD flash drive appears solid and dense. The enclosure is fully metallic. The USB 3.2 end is capped while the Type C side has a flip cover. Being a dual port flash drive makes this pretty easy to use with both phone or PC. As a whole I feel that this drive is a bit bulky but over all impressed. Sadly the cap will likely disappear on me in the near future. The storage capacity is 256GB, 512GB and 1TB. I got the 256GB version. Vansuny claims that the transfer speed for this USB 3.2 drive is 1000MB read/write. I tested it with my USB 3.1 port and had a bench result of 935 MB/s read and 600MB/s write. Actual file transfer speeds had similar results except for rar files where the speed transfer were a bit less. Note: do not expect the full advertised speed if your port is not USB 3.2. I purchased this Vansuny flash drive for $27.99 a few days ago. For this price I feel that the value, quality and performance is a bit expensive but worth it. As of writing this review the price is now $39.99. At this price point I would consider spending $12 more ($51.99) to purchase the 512GB version and get double the storage capacity

I bought this 512GB SSD specifically to back up my OneDrive archive (around 140GB of documents) to an external drive. The drive worked initially and showed fast transfer speeds as advertised. During my first sustained copy operation using robocopy on Windows 11, the drive completed approximately 40GB before the transfer hung and the file explorer froze. I had to hard-reset the computer. When I unplugged the drive, the casing was unusually hot to the touch. After letting it cool for over 30 minutes, I tried to reconnect it. The drive is no longer recognized by Windows — not in File Explorer, not in Disk Management, not in Device Manager. No LED activity. I tested it on a second computer with the same result. The drive appears to have failed completely. What I think happened: the drive likely lacks adequate thermal protection or sufficient SLC cache for sustained writes. Cheaper SSDs often perform well in burst transfers but fail under sustained workloads when the cache fills and the controller overheats. What to know if you're considering this drive: - It may be fine for occasional small transfers and casual use. - I would not trust it for backups, large file transfers, or any workload involving sustained writes of more than a few tens of gigabytes. - For backup purposes, consider spending more on established brands like Samsung T7, SanDisk Extreme, or Crucial X9, which document their thermal behavior and sustained-write performance. I'm contacting Vansuny support to request a warranty replacement. I'll update this review based on how that process goes.

Awesome external drive. Works great with my Macbook Air, is small but very sturdy and durable. Format capability meshes instantly with my Mac. Great value and easy to use. Keep in a constant safe place due to small size.

after 2 months and a half ,my USB Flash drive stoped woeking.the PC doesn't recognise it. i sent it to a PC shop to fix the problem and he told me that my USB is burned .there is a ship inside doesn't work and it will cost many hundreds of dollars to search my 120 GB of documents inside it. i am very disapointed about my purchase.i thout that SSD technology is not only fast but much more heavy duty than that.i lost my documents in only 2 months and half after my purchase.

Very fast, speed doesn’t drop even after multiple large writes. Paint scratches a bit easily but that’s just cosmetic
