Just right.
These are so difficult to find! The unicorn of sprinkler valves. Most common are female to male connections. This is exactly what I needed, and it works as it is intended.

Exact Replacement for Orbit Jar Top Valve
My existing valve started to leak at the sprinklers for an unknown reason, and I wanted to see if I could getaway by replacing the internal parts. Also, I needed the manual turn on/off capability on the valve. This is an exact replacement for the existing one. I kept the old valve casing, replaced all the internal parts including the solenoid. Because I only had to change the internal parts, installation was even easier. It took me a out 15 minutes to complete the whole repair. It now works perfectly without any leaks. Also, from cost perspective, it is only a few dollars more than replacing the solenoid. I am very happy with this purchase.

Manufacture Flaw
This valve has a design flaw. You need to inform the manufacture. I bought 2 of them and both had the same problem. They did not work upon first install. After looking at them closely, I discovered that there was no through hole in the plastic housing below the center tube. After I drilled the hole they both worked great.

Great sprinkler valve
It's typically much easier to find the female thread sprinkler valves in the home centers and hardware stores so finding the male thread versions that I was looking for at a lower price than the female version is a bonus. The valves have worked great since I installed them 2 months ago. They are standard 1" pipe thread that fits 1" PVC female adapters or 1" threaded unions perfectly. The solenoid is standard 24V AC and is easily replaceable. The whole valve top unscrews for easy cleaning when necessary. 5 Stars for a great product at a great price.

Great for rocket launchers!
Before we begin anyone crazy enough to build an air powered rocket launcher is an idoit and does so at his/her own risk. I neither condone nor recommend that you do this and in fact I am officially telling you this is a bad idea and someone is bound to get hurt. Now, having said that, air powered rocket launchers are awesome and this valve works great as a release along with a couple 9-volt batteries. Youtube or instructables may or may not have directions on how to build these. I don't know. The whole thing sounds dangerous. Don't do it.
