This is not made from light plate sheets of malleable, flimsy steel or tin. It is about 2.12 mm or 0.083 inch thick. It weighs about 550 gr. or 20 oz. and the centered opening for mounting to a pole is 3.5+ inches square, with downward angled brackets 3/4 inch on each inside of the hole, with two holes per side. The painted coating is good quality and if you speak Spanish or French, there is partial instruction in these languages, but I noticed step 2 and 3 were only in English repeated three times. Step 1 and 4 have all three languages given. There are 22 1/4 inch holes punched into the large surface area of the bracket and on the angled outer edges are four holes per edge (8) and four are slotted not drilled round. Also a bag of assorted mounting machine screws and plastic offsets to raise the bracket or mail box if needed, including wood screws #8-1/34" and 4 each of machined round headed screws-bolts #10-24 thd. 1 3/4" and #10-24 thd. 3/4", nylon locking nuts, washers and spacers. The instructions show several mounting configurations to posts and other support systems. This is a very adequate product, if not slightly over priced. The set of instructions, being flawed, will keep this review at 4 stars until I see it changed. Otherwise this is a good product and the instructions, other than the flaws, are the best instructions they have developed for their products and I have read many. Four Stars, for now. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very strong mailbox mount *by S***G on Reviewed in the United States on March 6, 2020* Made of strong metal and fits a regular 4x4 wooden post (actual size is 3.5" x 3.5") perfectly.I mounted a jumbo size mailbox to it with no problem at all. Come with instructions on how to mount standard size mailboxes also.More expensive than the plastic mounting brackets, but you get what you pay for.It should last a very long time compared to plastic mounting brackets that eventually get brittle due to year round weather conditions. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for my requirements *by B***E on Reviewed in the United States on March 14, 2015* Just what I needed for mounting my Gibraltar mailbox. I am using a cement post, as I am not sure the usual 4x4 wood post top would handle my extra large mailbox. Also like the decor improvement. In a previous install I used a similar plastic version which has held up well.
