## Description

A locking `T` handle with four hole backplate to suit older “scissor geared” canopy doors. The original handle had a spindle length of 40mm but they are now supplied with an 80mm spindle marked for cutting to length before installation. Fixing holes spaced 40mm horizontally. 46mm vertically (Approx) Silver painted finish. Supplied with two keys.

    Choosing this version of the Birtley type garage door depends on your level of security required.

The price of this item reflects the quality. Although the handle assembly interchanges well-enough with the original Birtley handle dimensionally,  essentially the locking mechanism is poorly manufactured and is inferior to the original Birtley type. The keys are smaller and lack strenght, One of the two keys came already in bent state, and required to be carefully straightened taking care not to fracture it. The key pattern does not seem to allow the key to smoothly rotate in the lock causing the lock to threaten to jam. Fiddling the key is needed to complete the rotation in the lock, despite ensuring that the lock was treated with lock-lubricant.I'll keep the unit in reserve and not fit it and continue to look-out for a better version.
