Expensive but worth it
So far it works great. Both myself and my dive buddy have this setup with the mk3i watch and it works great. It's nice to be able to monitor eachothers air supply. If his lines rupture and he's behind me I might not otherwise notice immediately. But with this I get a notification when his tank drops below 1000 psi. Great safety device.

Works great!
Great product arrived on time and has consistently worked and been beneficial for me as a side mount diver. Checking my air used to be uncomfortable but now I just look at my computer!!

Essential addition to Garmin Dive Computers - Never Dropped Connection All Day
I bought this along with the Descent X50i for a recent dive trip and did an extensive amount of research before going with this Brand / Model. I know Shearwater are pretty strong in the wireless market, but there were several features that Garmin offered that made me select the Garmin. I liked the idea of the Sonar technology and the increased range. Since I frequently dive with my family, I like the idea of being able to monitor their air/depth as they are just getting started with diving. One other factor that made me select Gamin over the other brands is my familiarity with Garmin. We use several of their products for running, cycling, etc. and have had consistently good experiences. Some additional notes on concerns I had: SubWave (Sonar) Noise: I read a lot about the sound that the SubWave makes. I didn’t hear anything and neither did the rest of my group. I thought maybe it was due to my age, but everyone else is in their 20’s and no one heard anything. I even had the T2 Transmitter power turned up one level from the standard to make sure I didn’t have connection issues and still didn’t hear anything. T2 Connection: I was testing the set up in a pool prior to our trip to make sure everything worked correctly and became concerned because the connection would drop and I kept losing the Air Pressure data. I came close to returning the unit thinking it was a defect, but luckily decided to call Garmin Support first. They were VERY helpful and explained that the unit uses Bluetooth above water and Sonar under water. When you initially enter the water, the unit will switch over to Sonar mode but it waits until you’re around 10 feet under. The pool I was using to test was only 8 feet deep so it never made the switch and would lose the Bluetooth connection within that time. I also learned that the T2 Transmitter has it's own depth gauge which drives the switch-over not the depth on the computer. Garmin assured me that it would be fine once I was in deeper water and it was. Everything worked perfectly. My last concern was that I’d lose the connection again when I was ascending and at a safety stop, but Garmin said that once it’s in Sonar mode it should remain there until I surface. They were right. I did 4 safety stops at depths from 20-12 feet and never lost connection. Overall I’m extremely happy with the T2 Transmitter. It held connection throughout the entire day, never dropping the signal. I’m looking forward to others in my group getting one so we can monitor each other’s air and depth, but that will require an additional investment.

Not reliable.
It's OK. I wanted this to use with my Mk3, specifically for SAC rate and to see remaining pressure. Often ( at least once per dive) I get a "lost comms" warning on my watch. It has a new battery and the MK3 is fully charged. Last week, when working a recovery dive with a full face mask, I needed to push the minimums a bit. Unfortunately, I received the "lost comms" error at 300psi while I was still working. The absolute worst time. Anyhow... I find it very unreliable and always dive a traditional, analog Guage as a backup. Cause this thing will fail again. Guaranteed. I've been using this for 1 year now.

Essential Safety and Seamless Integration for Advanced Divers
I’ve been using the Garmin Descent T2 Transceiver on my dives, and it has been a game changer. It seamlessly connects to my Garmin Descent Mk3i dive watch, providing real-time tank pressure, air time, and air consumption rate, which significantly enhances my situational awareness. While the pod is easy to install, I recommend using a short 6-inch HP hose for easier attachment, especially if your octopus rig is a bit tight, as the pod can be too wide for direct connection in some setups. The ability to pair multiple transceivers is an excellent safety feature, allowing me to monitor my dive buddies’ air levels when I’m guiding less experienced divers. The wireless communication is reliable even at 30 meters, and the preformatted diver-to-diver messaging adds an extra layer of convenience. Though it’s a bit pricey, the peace of mind it provides underwater is well worth the investment.
