They work great each and every time.
ours came with 4 receivers. pre-programmed, 2 each for channels 1 & 2 a charging cable with 4 ends for easy charging. honestly havent needed to charge but did test plug. out of the box turning on the receivers they worked perfectly. This has continued each time we send a signal. Honestly haven't used them a ton, so we havent needed to charge them. After about 50 "test" and "gameday" uses, still going strong. the charge turns a small piece of metal "red hot" fairly quickly and for a small duration of time. Ive used caution each time being aware not to have signals on until ready to go live. I really like the sliding cover over the transmitter to prevent accidental triggers. excellent solution for our needs!

A little tricky to use but work like the fireworks remote controls
These do work, it just take's a bit of practice. I find they work better on very full balloons and larger balloons. You can get a pretty good effect by placing various kinds of confetti in the balloon so that it flies everywhere when it bursts. The concept is pretty simple and these are somewhere between fireworks remote controls and an old car cigarette lighter. The unit on the balloon is simply a fast heating tungsten coil. If the balloon doesn't have enough pressure it deflates more than explodes. The tungsten does get hot but not long enough to cause a secondary issue burning, but it's something to be aware of if you are in someone's home etc... They pair easily and the remote batteries seem to last a long time. With the price of helium going up, having an alternative thing for balloons to do is a good backup.

Surprised these are legal
This is definitely something I would expect to find under the "How is this actually legal?" heading if such a category existed. These are basically remote fire starters - you have a remote that sends a signal to a receiver that is (ostensibly) attached to a balloon, and when you hit the button on the remote, a small tungsten coil heats up on the receiver and pops the balloon. I tested it out with a few balloons and it definitely scared the heck out of my unsuspecting family. However, this is the kind of item that I would be more afraid about people using it for purposes other than the intended one. But all that being said, everything is well-made, conveniently small, and works exactly as intended.

Didn't work. Just burned a hole in the balloon.
It didn't blow the balloon up. Made for a very disappointing gender reveal.
