I wanted to travel in those ships, be a part of the strange and wonderful worlds being shown to me. The story moves in streams; the past and present unfolding to keep the reader immersed and gradually lead forwards. This makes it easy to pause between reading segments if you are pressed for reading time. The characters build and shift relationships organically over the course of the story; this is really the heart of the adventure, and made for some touching moments. The representation of LGBTA+ people is great to see also.
