## Description

The Fluval Multi-Chamber Holding & Breeding Box is ideal for those looking for a convenient way to separate fish from the tank. This is usually done during breeding and as a maturation tank for young fry; but there are other times when fish may need to be isolated. This box does this without taking up space in the tank. Keeping perfect aquatic harmony has never been easier.

Review: Great Breeder Box for Raising Fry - This breeder box has been perfect for raising my celestial pearl danio fry. It was easy to assemble, and I really appreciate how simple it is to access the inside for both feeding and cleaning. I did make a small modification by adding a sponge to the return since the provided grates were a bit too large and could allow fry to slip through. With that adjustment, it works wonderfully. Overall, I highly recommend this breeder box for anyone raising fry.
Review: Don't put your flow too high. Use the correct angle. - So as you see in my video I have experience with the small, and now I own the large version of this breeder box. It works great. Some reviews say people had issues. As you see, it doesn't leak and the pegs didn't break off like some others said. The pegs add and remove leverage so that it can sit correctly. You want it to be aligned perpendicular with the rim of your tank or if anything SLIGHTLY angled downward INTO the tank. You do not want the bottom of the breeder box to be pushed out from the tank. I could see that as a reason why the pegs would break for some people. You don't want the bottom too far in. I could see that causing the box to leak from the front but I dont see how that could ruin your marriage. I have my pegs on number 4 but the glass and rim is thick on my 75 gallon. Front of the breeder box should be more or less parallel with the tank. Don't put your flow too high. I have a constant drip. Maybe 1 to 4 drops per second but it needs to be dripping into the box constantly. It gives a small stream from the slit and a constant drip into the aquarium. It doesn't make lots of noise. I haven't had issues with this method in 2 years. This combined with my egg incubator is invaluable when it comes to preserving numbers. The small version does not have a lock. I don't use the lock on the big one. I dont like the design of it. I didn't need instructions because I'm not incompetent but some people may need them.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Don't put your flow too high. Use the correct angle.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great, if you fix the sputtering
*by A***S on October 9, 2017*

Are you like me where bubbling water doesn't bother you but sputtering water and splashing does? I ask this because if you follow the instructions of this breeding box you'll hear loud, obnoxious sputtering. I'm not quite sure why it sputters the way it does, but it was driving me crazy. So this is what I did. In the instructions, you'll see two parts, Intake Tube (9) and Discharge Cap (8). Follow the instructions in putting the breeding box together, but then do the following if the sputtering noise bothers you like it did me. Throw out the Discharge cap. Feed a three inch or so piece of airline tubing into the top part of the Intake Tube where the Discharge cap would normally be affixed. Just feed it enough to be secure. Place the other end of the airline tubing into the water of the breeding box. You'll get bubbling instead of sputtering, which for me is realms more tolerable. Other than that this is a great little box. I use it as a half semi filter, half moss and shrimp storage. Edit: By the way, when you make the fix above, make sure the airline tubing you use isn't too long. Too long and the water struggles to make it up U turn of the Intake Tube, which causes it to act like just an airpump, instead of pulling water from the main tank in. If this happens and you don't realize it can be quite bad. For instance, if your house is cold and your tank warm, the pump won't bring the warm water from the main tank into the breeding box, so the temperature will drop heavily. That's bad. You'll also be dealing with only the water volume of the box instead of the water volume of the whole tank, which is also bad. So say you have this breeder box on a 10 or a 20 gallon, and you fix it incorrectly so that it's only bringing air into the box, then you've only got the water quality of the box, which is tiny. So make sure that both water is making it into the box and that water is exiting the box through the overflow (it should at least drip constantly).
