I think so. I compared the two side by side and they look almost identical. They feel identical. However, the element and plastic filter housing that shipped with my recently purchased Dewalt D55168 225 psi air compressor has no identifying markings on it. The Solberg filter element is marked "Made in USA" and has a patent number embossed on it. In addition, the recovery time using the Solberg element was 20 seconds less. This indicates that there is less restriction in the Solberg element. I'm surprised that the Dewalt QC Department would allow such a substitution. Someone is cutting corners. Go with a genuine Solberg element, and replace the cheap plastic OEM filter housing with a genuine Solberg one.In addition the filter housing of the original component fell apart during use and the element and cover fell to the floor.
