Some barn doors lift higher when they open and have sharp corners, others are more rounded. It can work but one must be careful - maybe putting pipe lagging over the tops of the doors. If it rains it would also have more of a tendency to pool water. Ideally a little bent pole between the tops of the doors would work really well.
