Great Results with No Sensitivity but it does dry out my mouth. Highly recommend if you have the right teeth and hygiene.
I will be the first to say that this product is not for everyone. For those who have the right type of enamel that is strong and not overly porous you should notice a dramatic whitening effect. I have given this product though to my family members and they have very mixed results. For my sister-in-law they actually highlighted the discolorations of her teeth which was really disappointing. She drinks a ton of coffee and has soft enamel. So while this whitened some parts of her teeth it did nothing to others. She tried this product twice with the same results. My dentist literally cannot believe how reactive my teeth are to this product. I actually have professional whitening trays and this product works better for my teeth than doing professional whitening. I do have severe sensitivity and gum irritation when using the professional whitening gel and trays. So that is why I consulted with my dentist as to what he recommended for me. Do not get me wrong, the professional trays got my teeth white, but I did not want the side effects that came with it. With that said, I strongly recommend consulting your dentist before trying this product especially if you have a good dentist patient relationship. I believe they can definitely tell you if over the counter treatments will be effective based upon your teeth and dentition. If this product is recommended for you then definitely try this whitening kit. Since my teeth are already white, I use this kit as a touch up twice a year. I always get a good expiration date with a lot of longevity when I buy this product on Amazon. You definitely want to always make sure you have a fresh product whether you buy this on Amazon or locally. So check the expiration when you receive or before buying. I personally could not beat the Amazon pricing locally for this product. I also love that Amazon offered me a coupon when I put it in my car so I saved even more than I first expected. This arrived quickly to my condo. These strips stay securely on your teeth until you pull them off. I always use a paper towel or tissue when I pull these off. If not the tips of my fingers will get white from the whitening gel. This usually goes away after a day or so. But if you use a paper towel or tissue you should not experience this. I do not have pain in my teeth or gums after using these. I do experience dry mouth and tongue though the day after. So I really try to stay well hydrated when using these. Sometimes I also get chapped lips but that side effect goes away 48 hours after I am done using these. I also like that this product does not have any after taste or chemical taste when there are in your mouth. This product definitely works better if you do not brush your teeth before using. Of course make sure your teeth are clean so swish some water before placing these on your teeth, but this product works better for me personally if I do not use them immediately after brushing. For those who say they experience side effects or do not get a level of whitening they expect then I recommend making sure you are following the directions to the letter and if you are then contact Crest for a refund. Just make sure you have proof of purchase. Good luck if you decide to try these. I hope they work for you as well as they do for me and that you get a super Amazon price too!

In the end I'm so glad I did
I cant believe i was discouraged to buy this product after reading these reviews. In the end I'm so glad I did. This product has AMAZING effects for an at-home whitener hands down. I think a lot of the grievances in these reviews come with inexperience in teeth care and teeth whiteners in general. For example, DO NOT use toothpaste before applying the white strips, for it effects with the whitening process. A few things i'd like to note: 1) To the people saying "This product doesn't whiten all of my teeth" You do realize, that you cannot just put the white strip OVER the teeth? Teeth aren't bricks. You have to fold the strip into the teeth. For example, I start in the middle of the whitestip, put my finger on it, and smooth it out over my teeth towards the ends MAKING SURE it forms to my teeth. Besides, Even if it does not touch every part of your teeth, the gooey whitening agent, once reacted, will cover all of those spots and form to your teeth. (especially if the strip is able to cover the backside of your teeth too, if not it's sstill fine.) 2) To the people saying "It hurts my gums/teeth/" Well, with the gum thing, do not under ANY circumstance put this on your gums!! You're supposed to get it close, but not actually have the strip cover the gums! I did this one time and my gums HURT. From then on I didn't have it touch my gums and discomfort disappeared. 3) To the people saying "not good for sensitive teeth" This one was a big deal breaker for me at first. My teeth are incredibly sensitive; eating ice cream hurts. I find it odd that I found no sensitivity as all with this product. Food for thought. Regardless, I achieved great results, my teeth are shades whiter, but not that nasty florescent white. It looks natural. For anyone interested in my routine: 1. 30 min after eating dinner I quickly run my wet toothbrush across my teeth (No toothpaste! This is important! The toothpaste can react with the whitening process) 2. I apply the whitestrip bottom first, starting in the center of my teeth and smoothing it out as far many teeth it reaches and fold it over the back of my teeth. 3. Same with the top 4. Press the strips in again, making sure they are activating and are on correctly (sometimes on the bottom teeth, saliva can make them move around, gotta go fast!) 5. Set an alarm for 30min since I am forgetful 6. After 30min, remove bottom, then top and brush teeth as normal. After the 20 day regimen, I now use Activated Charcoal to keep my teeth this shade of white. It's inexpensive and is a natural teeth cleaner/whitener. Look into it!

Great!
This morning was the second day. WoW! It's deffinately Crest's best whitening kit they have for retail as I've used thier lower priced kit,Rembrant and a $350 Dentist's Kit which all of them took the entire package to do JUST an ok job. I will say that the $350 kit I used from the dentist has been the worst kit I've used. Dentist's like to take a mold of your teeth and make you feel like this does some kind of magic making thier whitening product work better than Crest's ... it doesn't and I know plently of you have seen terrible results like this. Follow my direction below and I will save you $300! The only good part of the mold of your teeth and using the gels is that you get more coverage to your rear teeth but "IF" you do my routine below, you'll have healthy back teeth that are white enough. The formula Crest uses in this product doesn't irratate my gums or make them feel that nerve type of tingle that's annoying which I've experienced with all whitening kits. Because there hasn't been irritation like I described, I've been waring them for 40 minutes instead of 30 minutes as I was afraid they were either too old or were not working. Nope! This product works better than the $350 kit and the others mentioned above! I want to add that I haven't had a cavity in over 8 years and I'm 35 years old. The bottom line PEOPLE is that you can't stick your toothbrsh in your mouth just for 30-60 seconds in the morning and 30-60 seconds at night and think that your teeth are going to to just be as white as a babys and you're gums are going to be healthy as well!!! I had coffee stains in between my teeth about 5 years ago and I thought my teeth were rotting out. I brushed for about 2 minutes twice a day but I never worked the toothpaste into my teeth because I always applied the toothpaste to the toothbrush's brissles. That's the wrong way to do it and after I thought about the process of 30 years of brushing my teeth, I changed my way of doing the job as explained below. 1st ... apply a liberal amount of toothpaste to the tip of your tongue and allow your tongue to apply the toothpaste to every part of all of your teeth, front and back pushing the toothpaste in between your teeth. You can even let the toothpaste just sit on your teeth for 30-60 seconds before brushing. This is the only way to make use of all the toothpaste instead of having that toothpaste being pushed to the bottom of your brissles which difficult to wash out, if you wash it all out at all when done brushing. How do you suppose your toothbrush can dry properly if you have toothpaste stuck to the bottom the brissles? It can't and that in itself breed bacteria because it can't dry. Do you really like sticking that toothbrush in your mouth seeing this mornings old toothpaste still on it? Of course you don't and if you do, then somethings wrong with you! So apply the toothpaste to the tip of your tongue, not to the tooth brush's brissles! Then take your toothbrush (I use a medium Colgate) and slowly work those brissles in between each tooth feeling the brissles actually going in between each tooth and into your gum line. It's not a race! I get sick of seeing ppl brush thier teeth like it's a 50k Sprint! I do not understand how these people think that brushing your teeth at 100 MPH for 20 seconds does the job!?!?! This is a major reason people have bad breath and teeth that look like the person is doing meth. Make sure you floss once a day after you brush your teeth and before you use your mouthwash and don't make that a race either. You really got to work that floss (I use the waxed REACH Cinnamon brand) like you're buffing the finish on your new paint job and don't forget to get into the gumline. How can you buff a tooth with anything but the waxed floss? The string type just removes debris and the tape floss just folds up. Either way use floss once a day! Rinse with a mouth wash twice a day (I use Listerine or generic and I like it HOT!!!). I don't believe the non alcohol rinses do the same good job as the alcohol rinses. I look at the ingredients. Either way, use a mouthwash of some sort. One thing I've noticed about mouthwashes is that the dyes in them can leave your teeth slighlty stained so I recommend you switch your colors of mouth wash each time you buy a new bottle. One month I'll use cool mint, the next cinnamon, the next the yellow one, etc. I wish they'd make a clear Listerine that had the alcohol in it like Crest's Clear non-alcohol mouthwash. When you use your mouthwash, DON'T make that a 10 second race either. Use as directed which is usually for 30 seconds. "IF" and I SAY "IF" YOU use Crest's 3D Toothpaste and do what I explain to you for 10 days, it'll look like you have a new grill. THEN AND ONLY THEN ..... after the 1st ten days of your new brushing, flossing and rinsing routine have started then use these Crest WHite Strips and it'll look like you went to a Hollywood Dentist and paid $1000. NOTE:!!!! If you are not a regular floss user flossing daily like I explain above and you don't brush your teeth properly like I explain how to above or use mouthwash twice a day like I explained above ..... then .... I suggest waiting 30-45 days after doing the above proper way of brushing/flossing/rinsing routine BEFORE using the Crest White Strips because your gums need to get used to being flossed properly and brushed properly. If your gums are not healthy, don't expect to put any whitening strips on and not have your gums get irritated with the nerve tingling feeling which is very uncomfortable. If you can't handle the the stips for 30 minutes as directed DON'T EXPECT THE PRODUCT TO WORK!!! I also suggest using this kit 2-3 times a year "IF" YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR MOUTH!!! Good luck! Update!!! I used them for 8 days in a row. I can't see how my teeth can get any whiter so I'm using the rest as a touch-up which I'm doing by using one package once or twice a week. Update 2-5-2012 I'm buying this product for a 2nd time. I have a months worth of Hawaii time coming and I will use half of the stips to make sure my smile is Hollywood perfect!

I'm impressed for the most part
I wasn't terribly optimistic about how well these would work. I only bought them since they were on sale and decided to give them a shot. I recently quit smoking and was giving myself a kind of "bodily makeover", but I don't have infinite funds to spend and can't afford a professional job. I'm only about halfway through the carton and I have better results already than I expected- which was little to none. But they aren't without their pitfalls. The upsides: you do see results fairly quickly and they aren't a big problem in terms of time to use them or very difficult to use and comfortable enough to wear. I only had a couple of times where they folded in on themselves while I was applying and had to pull them apart a little wet, but they were still usable. I dry my teeth with a piece of cotton and brush/floss just before I apply to make sure there isn't anything in the way of good adhesion. A word of warning, once they are stuck, they are stuck. It's not easy to reposition them after they are pressed onto your teeth, so you have to do it right the first time. The downsides: they can cause some sensitivity and gum irritation. I personally didn't find it too troublesome and the tooth sensitivity faded after a few days even while continuing to use them. As I understand it, not everyone has the same experience and it is too bothersome for some people to continue use. My gums are a bit irritated in spots, but honestly I've lost track of time on a few occasions when wearing them and had them in a lot longer than recommended. So had I only worn them for the recommended 30 minutes, that might not be such a problem. On the other hand, that showed how comfortable they can be, if I could totally forget about them for well over an hour. They can be difficult to get in between the teeth. I usually use a fingernail to push them between my teeth a bit. I've noticed that where there isn't good direct contact like between teeth and right at the gumline, it is less white. Also, I have flourodosis spots on my teeth. So my teeth naturally have a lot of white splotches and while these help to blend those in better, they will not go away- something I vaguely hoped for, but didn't expect. I also found that when I have bad dry mouth, they are more uncomfortable to use. I initially thought I could wear them while on my treadmill and that didn't fly. The exertion combined with these odd tasting plastic sheets on my teeth and needing to drink lots of water, just wasn't going to work and was really uncomfortable. You can sip water during use, but I've found a good sized gulp will destroy the adhesion and taste terrible. Considering the cost, you don't really want to waste any of them. Lastly, don't expect perfectly bright white teeth like you would see in a commercial and I'm not confident it is truly "professional level whitening" in a box. In fact, those are usually either caps or veneers- in other words, they aren't even real teeth. If you have any artificial dental work, these won't change the color of it, you will need replacement for that. Also, it will depend on what you are starting with as to how white they will get. If you are starting with heavily stained teeth from years of smoking, coffee and soda drinking, etc., you might just want to pop for the professional job at the dentist's office since this will only take them up a few shades. On that note, I was told by a dentist friend that post professional whitening, one should avoid the big teeth stainers- cigarettes, coffee, dark teas and sodas for 2 weeks. Otherwise, you tend to reverse all the work that was done. In order to try and get the best results I can, I've been avoiding all those during use, so that could be helping to get better results, I can't be sure. I'd rather go overboard and get better results than risk not getting the most for my money because of something that could have been easily avoided. And it doesn't cost a cent to avoid those things. Annoying perhaps, but monetarily speaking, that is something you can do at home without spending a dime or second of your time and there are other obvious health benefits to cutting out those things. I was also using the Crest 3D white toothpaste prior to using this product and will continue to do so. It has a minor effect, but takes a very long time for even slight results. That also might be increasing results somewhat, but again, I can't be sure. I just figure it can't hurt. You still have to brush anyway, right? Bottom line, the product works, just don't expect that a do-it-yourself carton is going to make your teeth look like a movie star's. If that is truly what you're after and any less is a disappointment, see a cosmetic dentist for an all over professional job and you'll likely need some artificial work done since very few people have such perfect or white teeth naturally.

Glow in the Dark Smile! Stopped/decreased sensitivity as well
This is my third time buying this. First off, great product! I usually use 10 treatments every 4 months (because Crest states the max is 40 treatments in 12 months). Spacing it out has done wonders. It usually take me 5 treatments before I start seeing immediate results. I used to be so embarrassed to wear a white shirt or I would wear one but not smile as much to avoid the huge contrast. I also figured out ways to combat sensitivity. First, realized I shouldnt brush my teeth at least 3 hours before using the whitestrips. It's actually best to use (IMO) if you don't brush your teeth at all in the evening/night. So the nights I used it, I only brushed my teeth at breakfast and sometimes lunch. Second, I gargled with hydrogen peroxide routinely and this helped with sensitivity and increased whiteness. Third. I noticed the height of my bottom row is short in comparison to the top. When the strips laid on my gums, it would cause a negative reaction... almost like a dull aching pain/soreness. So before I put on the strips, I used scissors to carefully trim the top of the strip off. This allowed the strip to stay ONLY on my teeth and not rest on my gums. It's amazing how many people positively comment on my teeth. I think everyone's so used to dingy white and/or yellow teeth that white teeth truly stands out! I have gone to cosmic bowling, glow in the dark golf facilities, as well as other low/special lit events and I've had strangers comment on how white or "nice" my teeth look. Mind you, my teeth have shifted from not using my retainers much so I knew they mustve been talking about the whiteness of my teeth. It's great to stand out this way. It definitely boosted my confidence and now I'm hooked to these strips! I have at least two youtube videos (look up Naturallyjoli) describing my day by day experience with my first treatment as well as a detailed teeth hygiene regimen for those that want more details before committing. I rarely drink colorful drinks (from time to time I may sip wine or juice). The drinks never stained my teeth longer than a minute or so. Actually, my lipstick stains my teeth more than drinks and it's not a permanent stain (I'll lick it off and it's gone). I was so hesitant to use this product before (I kept reading reviews and it scared me). But I am happy I finally gave in. Now it's been a full 12 months since I started and I felt this was the perfect time to give a review. I look forward to seeing how much more white my teeth can look!

Very effective, fast working.
Crest has been the most consistently reliable and effective whitening strip's I've tried. The results start becoming apparent even after 2-3 uses. It does cause a bit of sensitivity but using a sensitive toothpaste has helped. Highly recommend!

Amazing
I am simply amazed by this product. I tend to be skeptical (and cynical) about just about everything, especially products that claim they'll increase whiteness by "three shades." (What the hell is a "shade" anyway?) Well, whatever a "shade" is, I got a zillion of them. My teeth are GLOWING after about four days of use. They even whitened my porcelain crown -- something I didn't expect, since it wasn't nearly as stained as my natural teeth and I figured it must still be the original color. The product is convenient, they STICK so I don't have to mess with them, and they leave my teeth feeling slick and looking awesome. I AM SO PLEASED! I just put them on before I lift weights in the morning and take 'em off before I brush and head to work. Easy breezy. I drink a lot of coffee and red wine (for the vitamins of course.) As a result my teeth really started to look terrible. I didn't notice it in the mirror so much but in pictures they always looked like crap. I kept thinking I would go to the dentist and have them whitened but then you have to take time off work. What a hassle. These are easy and they work. I just can't emphasize enough how happy I am. They do make my teeth hurt, but my teeth are naturally sensitive anyway so I brush with Colgate Sensidyne. I think it's important to put the strips on before you brush, then brush with desensitizing toothpaste immediately afterward. I haven't stopped using the strips yet but I suspect my teeth will slowly return to their typical level of sensitivity after I'm done with the box. I can easily do this once every few months if necessary. Totally worth it. Extra points to Crest if they decide to make whitening strips that already have fluoride in them so you don't have to use desensitizing toothpaste afterward. Another downside if you can call it that: The top strip is only wide enough to cover the smile of someone with a mouth the diameter of a broom handle. A lot of the yellow in my smile was on the front side of the rear molars which you can easily see whenever I open my gaping maw. The solution of course is to put the strip across the rear teeth on alternating days. You have to be especially careful not to get the rear side of the strips wet with saliva as you do this or they won't stick. It takes a little practice but it's worth the trouble. None of this came as any surprise. I did my research before buying the product. Anyway, definitely five stars.

Over halfway through with limited results
I am 11 treatments into my 20 strip box, and so far, the results have been OK, at best. I used crest strips YEARS ago (10+ years) with similar results. At that time, my dentist told me that some people just don't have white teeth, after I asked him about an in-office treatment attempt due to the lackluster results from the white strips. It's not a matter of stains or wear, but just the natural color of some teeth is not brilliant white. He said those people would benefit for from bleaching as opposed to the peroxide treatments, as that's the only way the teeth would get 'white,' but bleaching can cause other issues. I had that in mind when going into this recent use, but figured I'd see if the results would be the same with the stronger, improved product. After the eleven treatments over 11 days, I am seeing SOME change. More of just a homogenization of the color as opposed to a super-whitening (which tells me the product is helping with some stains). There is some lightening as well, but it's not an 'expected' result based on the product claims (not even sure if qualifies as a one-shade whitening). I am starting to get some sensitivity now, but plan to continue the treatments until the end. I'll just use toothpaste for sensitive teeth to mitigate the sensitivity. Not expecting a miracle by the end of the cycle, but I'll see if the results improve at all. Just heed my story about what my dentist had told me, and temper your expectations for the product. UPDATE: I used the product down to the last strip (OK, OK...my wife used 1 of them before a vacation trip), and I can say my results above never improved. 'Whitening' was minimal. That's not to say the product didn't work, but as I pointed out above, I just don't have teeth that are going to get that luminescent whiteness. I think this will be the last time I give these a try, at least for another 10 years.
