Reliable, affordable, everyday coffee
Iโve been ordering theAmazon Fresh Colombia Whole Bean Coffee Medium Roast, 32 Ozfor the past few years, and itโs become my go-to everyday coffee. The flavor is exactly what I want in a medium roastโsmooth, balanced, and not too acidic or bitter. It has a nice full-bodied taste with subtle notes of cocoa and nuttiness, making it easy to drink black or with cream. Itโs not overly bold, but definitely not weak eitherโjust a solid, dependable cup every time. One thing I really appreciate is the value. The 32 oz bag lasts a while, especially if youโre brewing daily, and grinding the beans fresh makes a noticeable difference in aroma and taste.Consistency has also been good across multiple orders. The beans are usually fresh enough and work well with different brewing methods (drip, French press, etc.), which is a big plus.Overall, this isnโt some high-end specialty coffee, but thatโs not what itโs trying to be. Itโs a reliable, affordable, everyday coffee that delivers a smooth and enjoyable cup. Iโll definitely keep reordering.

Consistently roasted to perfection every time I receive a bag.
I have purchased this 4 times so far and will continue. It is great coffee and one of the best values anywhere. Perfect balance of flavor and strength. I have tried Brooklyn Coffee and even though they are more expensive per ounce, the quality of roast is inconsistent. Looking at reviews, some people got properly roasted beans but I did not. I got extremely dark, oily, almost burnt beans from them when the package clearly said medium roast. I have never had this issue with Amazon's Columbian. Consistently roasted to perfection every time.

Amazon's Whole Bean Regular Coffee.... and a Whole Bean Decaf
Columbian used to have that "punch" when you first open the can or bag. Not this. Kona Hawaiian coffee is still the best coffee on the planet, but you will pay 50 dollars for a bag of the 100% pure stuff. When I saw Amazon was selling its own brand of Columbian coffee, the expectations were very high. After all, this is their signature label. Honestly, I found it a little weak in flavor, and tastes like it has been sitting somewhere for a year or more. Aging coffee kills coffee. Time is not coffee's friend. Coffee experts will tell you to only brew what you are going to immediately use, because you have about a half hour after grinding whole beans and brewing them until the coffee flavor starts going over the falls in a big way. There is no difference in the ground and fresh brewed Amazon Columbian that I can taste. Yes it is Arabica. The price is not bad, Walmart sells its ground coffee in cans for about the same price, but again, I only brew Walmart coffee when all other options fail me.So, bottom line ... want to grind your own beans? Do you want a coffee brand that is the price of your local store brand? This is the coffee for you. You can brag Columbian coffee at your house to your friends. After some time has passed... and I already bought and reviewed the dark and medium Amazon roasts, I bought the Amazon medium roast whole bean DECAFFEINATED coffee. After all.. its whole beans. Has to taste great and fresh when grinding whole beans. And I needed a decaf to replace the rising price Gevalia and Tim Horton brands... which are excellent in taste, but a little pricey for a 12 ounce bag.OK. The story starts HERE for the DECAF VERSION of the whole bean coffee. A mystery is afoot, and it is this. The first couple cups / a pot or so of the decaf... had a very strange flavor. It was a black licorice tasting flavor the best that I could compare it. It was not a good thing for me... I prefer red licorice. Time passed. I ran out of my Tim Horton's and was refusing to buy it at "the other" place and Amazon apparently was temporarily out. So I turned to the decaf whole bean in my cabinet. Coffee experts say... after grinding whole beans you have about two weeks before the ground coffee starts decaying in flavor. That is why we buy WHOLE beans. For the freshness. And after roasting the beans... which has been done before any coffee gets to any retail outlets... you have a year and a half or so of freshness. A LOT of time to use one little bag. Especially if you are a coffee fiend like myself and Elon Musk. (Who also would not start his 12 hour days without his coffee ritual.)So, the coffee roasting time has a lot of grace compared to the coffee "ground" time, which is very quick and probably about two weeks after a coffee is ground to still be fresh. Anyway, I ground the three mugs worth that I consume immediately at breakfast and mixed them with my current regular caffeine coffee. Once again... Gevalia or Tim Horton are both fine to mix with the Amazon decaf. To my utter shock... this was a different coffee from the first cups I had brewed. There WAS NO licorice smell or flavor. It tasted fine. Matter of fact, the flavor of the rest of the decaf Amazon coffee so far... is a bit more robust and hardy from average. I could grow to like this. The bottom line is... I cannot account for the flavor and taste change. I will update and get back to you as this unfolds. If the bag is consistant and the next bag is consistant in flavor... I will tell you that. At this point in time... its just a simple anomaly. Could be as simple as an accidental spill at the packing plant into some beans or one bag of a spice or liquid spice commonly sold in stores for baking. So I feel bad that initially I gave the coffee two stars because of the strange flavor. Now as you can see... that has changed. I would say try it. For the money and the flavor you may prefer it. No complaints here for now.And you get to grind it fresh... the only decaf whole bean coffee I know of.

Great coffee, smooth, rich taste, great price
Iโm kind of a coffee snob and was skeptical about the Amazon brand coffee. With the price of coffee going up like it is in the amount of coffee I consume. I decided to give it a try. I definitely was not disappointed, it is very good coffee. So if youโre on the fence like I was just buy it.

Good Stuff!
Very good coffee. I typically like Starbucks Veranda and Black Rifle Smooth Silencer which are light roasts. This is a medium roast and it hits the mark for me. Not too strong but a good solid coffee. Will order again and the price is amazing for the quality.

Great Arabica coffee for a good price. We use it for espresso or cappuccino every day
"Quality Colombian Coffee at a Budget-Friendly Price - Solid Daily BrewAs someone who goes through coffee fairly quickly, I've been searching for a reliable, wallet-friendly whole bean option that doesn't sacrifice quality. After finishing this 32 oz bag of Amazon Fresh Colombian Medium Roast, I can say it delivers solid value for everyday brewing. The beans have a consistent medium-brown color with minimal oil, indicating a true medium roast. Upon opening, you're greeted with a pleasant aroma featuring notes of chocolate and mild nuts, though not as intense as some premium brands. The beans appear fresh and uniform in size, with very few broken pieces in the bag.Using my burr grinder, these beans grind evenly and work well in both my drip coffee maker and French press. The resulting brew is smooth with moderate acidity - you get classic Colombian coffee characteristics of chocolate and caramel notes, with a subtle nutty finish. While it lacks some of the complex undertones you might find in specialty coffee, it produces a very drinkable cup that holds its own against many grocery store brands costing more. What impressed me most is how well it performs as an everyday coffee. No bitter aftertaste, minimal acidity, and enough flavor to enjoy black but also stands up well to cream and sugar. The 32 oz bag stays fresh for about 3-4 weeks when stored properly in an airtight container. The price point is where this coffee really shines - it's significantly cheaper per ounce than comparable whole bean options while maintaining good quality. While it may not wow coffee connoisseurs, it's an excellent choice for daily drinking that won't break the bank.Pros:- Consistent, even roast- Clean, balanced flavor- Good value for money- Works well in multiple brewing methods- Minimal bitter aftertasteCons:- Lacks some complexity found in premium brands- Aroma could be more pronounced- Bean freshness can vary (check roast dates)Tips: Store in an airtight container away from sunlight, and grind just before brewing for best results. Best consumed within 4 weeks of opening, but that's about the time it gets consumed at home anyways, so it can taste fresh within our normal use window."
