The storyline is so simplistic that I have my difficulties to put it into words. Anyway..., Retired Navy Commander Greg Lambert, a widower around 50 is presented with a second chance in his life. After losing his wife to cancer, he meets Sheridan, the bartender at the place he visits to wind down. They decide to act on the pull they feel for each other and soon their lives change.What can I say? I definitely expected more. I know, I know - it’s a novella! However, this was more like a chapter from a novel than a standalone novella. I also missed the depth. More specifically, the main characters were a bit maturer and I expected this to be reflected in their actions and dialogues. Needless to say that I was surprised when I reached the end of the book. It was so abrupt..... No, can’t really recommend this one. I'm seriously disappointed. Commander Lambert needed his own epic villain and battle. FFS, he's fifty, not elderly. I've never wanted my money back following a Susan Stoker book before until now. This will never be on my reread list and I'd honestly like to forget I ever read it. The best thing that could happen here would be if Sher turned into a bounce back and a move on to free up the man for a bigger battle and epic love story... until then i can dream. I expected there to be an actual story!
