No matter, I took the plunge after re-reading all the positive reviews (there are no negative ones at this time) and received them yesterday. One of the things I was cautious about was my intention to use them with my ancient Samsung YP-G70 mp3 player and some doubt I had regarding Blu-tooth compatibility. The player is BT 3.0 so I asked the question on here if it worked and got the answer yes. I can now confirm that is so as there was no issue with the pairing whatsoever.As for ANC, it is very hot in UK at the moment (July 2018) and we have a fan going full blast in the room I'm listening in. Due to the complete over the ear muffs not much noise gets through anyway but switching on the ANC eradicated the fan noise completely. As others have said, using ANC does reduce the bass end a little but not so much to affect my personal enjoyment.On first sight these 'phones really look the business. They come with a protective case if traveling and include a jack-jack lead for direct listening if not using BT or the battery has died, plus a USB cable for charging. Mine came fully charged so unable to comment yet on charge times nor battery durability. So far I am well pleased with my purchase and thank the other 30 reviewers for helping me choose these headphones. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recommended *by S***O on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 September 2018* Sound:Perhaps a tad too much bass for my taste, but not much, and not muddy. A good clear balanced sound. I can hear some detail on these that I don't get on some other headphones. The volume is good, too: I like my music loud, but maximum volume on these is too loud.Fit:Most headphones only just fit on my ears when their headband is stretched to full size, from which I take it I have a largeish head. These can be adjusted much bigger than I need. The cups fit perfectly over my ears, which are also a bit bigger than average, and shut out a lot of sound even without the noise cancellation. The headband is comfortably padded.Bluetooth:I've always found I get interference with Bluetooth signals when walking around Central London. These headphones suffer from this far less than my last two pairs, but do still cut out very briefly now and then (which is why I'm giving these 4 stars instead of 5). Away from interference, the reception is perfectly good.Active Noise Cancellation:At this price, the ANC obviously doesn't give the unnerving floating-in-a-vacuum effect you get from the top-of-the-range Boses, but it is good. Turning it on on a train, I can still hear the train, but it's way quieter. Putting them on in a bustling open-plan office is like going away to a quiet room and only hearing all the chat through a thick closed door. In the street, I nearly got run over because I couldn't hear a bus.
