## Description

One of the greatest storytellers of his generation, Grant Morrison's arrival in the world of the Dark Knight changed the character forever. Now collecting the entirety of this epic saga, this first of three omnibus collections introduces Batman to his son, Damian Wayne, and takes the Caped Crusader from the brink of death to the edge of madness. These blockbuster stories, including the now-classic Batman & Son, Batman: The Black Glove and Batman R.I.P. , feature a deconstruction of superhero comics like no other, with a challenging, thought-provoking take on the man behind the cowl. Collects Batman #655-658, #663-683 and stories from DC Universe #0 and #30 and #47, from artists Andy Kubert, J.H. Williams III, Tony S. Daniel and more, along with two brand-new pages from superstar artist Chris Burnham ( Batman Incorporated ), recapping events from The Resurrection of Ra's Al Ghul .

Review: A brilliant story of Batman's Mentality - This book is the first of an absolutely amazing trilogy of Omnibus' that contain some of the best comic books ever written. I originally read bits and pieces of Morrisons run back in the day (Batman R.I.P and Batman Inc New 52) but I was new to comics so I didn't really understand anything. However since then I've had many years of reading and still have never gotten round to this run. But now a 3 Omnibus' are out I finally read through the run and my god is it amazing. This first Omni is a deep dive into Bruce Wayne's mentality and what it costs to be Batman. The main villain is all about trying to break Batman mentally and challenge Gotham's idea of what Batman is. It's a phenomenal concept that is done so well and really makes you think about what you read and engages you in the story. The standout story for me definitely was Batman R.I.P which is the final story that brings this first omni to a close. The art throughout the book changes around but I think all the different styles are all superb. The binding is also really great as it's only a small book, so the paper quality and binding are top notch. The front cover and the spine of the dust jacket are beautiful and look great on the shelf, and the hardcover itself has a nice Black and White Batman logo on it. Definitely a fantastic read, though if you are new to Batman, this is not the book for you as it really delves into Batman's history and brings back very obscure things that new readers will definitely not understand. However a but if research and other reading is all you really need to be able to jump into this book. 10/10 easy
Review: Great Batman read (so far) - This omnibus is great, especially with the discount I got it for, and in general, Grant Morrison is a brilliant writer, so if you want a good Batman story, this is a great place (maybe not to start from fresh, but even so, you should find enjoyment and entertainment). I am a little under halfway through as I am writing but it’s been great, one of my favourite Batman runs so far, and the stories like Batman and Son, Three Ghosts of Batman, and the Black Glove have been great. Note in terms of reading: there is an event named The Resurrection of Ra’s Al Ghul that happens within Morrison’s run but it is not fully covered in the book, so for anyone reading this who wants the full story, that is a separate collected title by Morrison and Paul Dini (another fantastic writer), but it does give the prelude issue and a little context.
