I've never used one before so I can't compare it with any others. The Scanner is good quality and comes with all the leads that you need and is easy to use. The fact that I was able to diagnose and repair the fault, and I was able to turn off the management light means that with one use the scanner it has paid for itself. Well worth the money. I needed to contact nexpeak regarding installing the drivers. Support was excellent. The driver that wouldn't install was for windows XP so not needed. Things that I think could be improved. The instructions are written by someone who's first language isn't English and can be difficult to follow, but any DIYer will quickly get the hang of it. The instructions should have a glossary of terms at the begining, for example DTC-diagnostic trouble codes, DLC,MIL,I/M etc. I kept having to search to see what they meant. It would be better if you didn't need to make a note of the fault codes and go back into a different screen to see the definition. Overall I'm very pleased I bought the scanner. Really good and pretty essential for any modern car. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good bit of kit for the DIY Mechanic *by G***E on 8 December 2019* When it arrived i opened it up and briefly scanned through the instructions, i noticed that the language (English) was OK but not brilliant, maybe a translating issue? but it all made sense, the reader appears to be of good quality and for the size it is very light. I followed the instructions to update it, but it was already loaded with the latest update, bonus. plugged into my ford focus and went through the instruction manual trying all the different options. i do have a fault of which i know about which i presume is something to do with the hole in the exhaust(replacement in the shed awaiting my attention ). It gave me the fault code and after selecting my manufacturer it came back as unrecognised or something similar. i'm a bit disappointed as the ford focus is not what you call a rare car over here in the UK. But on the whole this may be down to my lack of experience with these type of machines. As a self taught mechanic, i found that the device was easy to navigate and simple enough to use, i managed to clear my fault code after reading all the instructions and actually doing it on the device as i went.
