Now I’m a Believer
KWhen I saw this product, I was skeptical, and it seemed like a lot of money for a mere 4 milliliter. However, I’ve now used this more than two dozen times, and it works great. I play guitar and mandolin, and I hadn’t been practicing much. Then I went to Europe for two weeks without an instrument and returned with essentially no callouses at all. Two days later, I left to spend a week studying Gypsy jazz guitar, playing hours a day. Then, a week later, I spent a week playing Brazilian Choro music on guitar. Yesterday I played for hours—until one a.m. This would be very painful or impossible without Rock Tips. After going from no playing to hours a day, I didn’t get a single blister. If my fingers got sore, an application of a Rock Tips solved the problem. Gypsy jazz is played with a pick, so I only used Rock Tips on my left hand. Choro is played with the thumb and fingertips of the right hand (and a thumb pick), so I used Rock Tips on both hands. Using Rock Tips is like using nail polish, but you use it on skin instead of nails. The cap has a little nail polish brush built in. To use it, Imunscrew the bottle, pull out the brush, and in a few seconds paint the fingertips of my left hand. You don’t have to be near. Speed matters. Just paint it on fast. Not the way you would carefully use nail polish. The Imrefill the brush and hold it between two fingers without touching my wet fingernails and quickly paint the pads of my right thumb and three fingers, then close up the bottle. I wave my fingers, blow on them, etc, and in about one minute (even with high humidity), my fingertips are dry and ready to play. If my fingers hurt, the pain disappeared immediately. (Remember, don’t wait until you already have blisters.) I found that the Rock Tips easily lasted for an hour of hard playing (including constant scraping of the guitar strings with the fingertips of my right hand. A couple times my fingertips began to hurt, and I simply added another layer. I often recoated before the next class. I don’t know how many coats are in a bottle, but if you do four fingers with one brush full as I did, at least a couple dozen uses. Maybe much more. Money well spent. This is especially useful for beginners, but it even works for pros who have been playing too hard. I thought this might be superglue (cyanoacrylate), but I don’t think it is. It doesn’t smell like it. For the first minute, the fluid seems a little oily. It’s not as thick as superglue, but it dries fast. It doesn’t feel like superglue. My fingers don’t seem to stick together they way they would with superglue. In any case, if you or your kid has pain from playing strings, get a bottle of this. It’s worth the price.

Rock Tips
This stuff is great and REALLY works like it says! I've been playing guitar since I was 10 years old and have ALWAYS had dry skin and my fingers cracking during this change of seasons, even though my fingers are really calloused. This stuff works great

IT WORKS, hopefully it's not dangerous to use frequently!
So the entire bottle only has 4 milliliters which is really not that much product. And it's kind of pricey! However, I really like this product a lot and it helps me play guitar for longer hours and I really am satisfied with this efficiency of this product. I had to order some more I would have given this five stars but the liquid callus supply does not last that long. Often times I will put on multiple coatings on a specific finger that's doing a lot of work in order to really get that thick callus effect. People who say that only beginners should use this are wrong. I'm an experienced player and this product helps me out. Beginners should be developing their calluses more "naturally"... But if you are an experienced player or if you still practice a ton after already developing thick calluses that are being broken down from your vigorous playing? Then this product is a great option for you. Keep jamming, guys.

Perfect solution
Great solution for sore fingertips. Dries very quickly and does not negatively affect playing.

Decent Product
It works okay and makes playing a little more comfortable but has a lot of drawbacks. For one it's quite expensive, but I could overlook that if it worked better. It provides some padding but far from painless still. It also doesn't dry perfectly despite the bottle saying it dries in a couple minutes, it can feel slightly sticky even after 10 minutes. It also strong fumes while you're applying it which I find a little strange considering it's non toxic. It's just a bit irritating to my eyes and makes them water while I'm applying it. I will probably keep using it despite these drawbacks because there aren't many products like this on the market. Overall I would recommend it if you're desperate for more comfortable playing like I am.

Yeah, it works for my situation
First I feel the need to explain: I had hand surgery forcing me to take eight plus years off playing guitar. Not that I was really good before, but I am trying to get back to where I was... I am about about two or three weeks in, and I had to completely relearn every major chord. And I am dying to be able to play Wish You Were Here again. So two nights ago I started working on the solo with bends, pull offs, slides, and so on. On an acoustic guitar with heavy strings. My finger tips were already killing me from practicing chords for a hours each day, but now I am starting to rip the flesh off my finger tips. I order this stuff three nights ago when I started practicing the solo and got it today -just in time. Obviously this stuff in not going to fix (magically heal) my bruised fingers. They still hurt to play, a lot! However, I have been dreaming of playing a couple of my favorite tunes for years. The bruising pain is to the point it's hard to hold a strong chord, but I know from years past if I split or peel the skin off my fingers I won't be able to play at all. That is exactly were I think this stuff is amazing. Using this over priced super glue meets nail polish solution I am able to continue painfully practicing my solo. Yeah one or two times through the solo the single layer of rock tips was cracked and ripped up, but I was able to apply another coat and run through it again without bleeding. It may seem expensive, but I would pay $12 a night to get my 2 hours of painful practice (I would otherwise have to skip). I feel like this bottle will get me through a lot of nights practicing things I would otherwise have to skip. I will order another bottle before I run out if my fingers don't grow rock hard calluses by then. In short if your fingers hurt all day before you start to practice from the night before. They are going to continue to hurt when you play guitar. Sorry this product is not going to totally save you from torturing yourself. It aid you a little in that situation. If you want to practice bends, pull offs, etc on sore fingers this stuff seems to have saved me from ripping layers of skin off. Allowing me to continue.... Update: day 2 I am playing even more and my fingers are hurting less. So over time it does tend to lessen the bruising pain as well. Dries fast. No regrets on my purchase, it does seem to make my phone touch screen less responsive. Hope this long winded review is a helpful.

This WORKS!!
This is the best stuff to protect your fingertips until you earn your callouses with practice! Boy, how I wish I had this back in the 60s when I first learned guitar! I am just overjoyed with how effective this formula is! It really protects your fingers while practicing your stringed instrument. It is Kryptonite Protection against the sharpest metal strings! It doesn't come off easily, but if you really NEED to remove it, a short soak in hot water with a squirt of Dawn, (which I accidentally discovered while washing a few dishes!) And I am guessing that the formula, once applied would be a temptation to any serious nail-biters, a habit I was sure I had broken 50 years ago!) The formula is in a small bottle and is applied using the "cap brush" (like fingernail polish) on just the small area of your fingertips that needs a little "protection pillow", then allow the formula to dry, less than a minute. Once dry, it gives the greatest protection I've ever used...and I think I've tried EVERY item ever invented by musicians since Noah! I would give it more than just 5 stars, if I could! The only "con" of the formula is that it is hard to remove...so be careful not to get it on your clothing or anything you value (like you would with nail polish). Note to parents: the one thing that contributes to your children not practicing & giving up interest in stringed instruments is that pesky problem "It hurts my fingers"....this is like liquid insurance to solve the issue! So buy a few bottles of this formula along with cases, bags, extra strings, a strap, electronic tuner, music books, etc, etc I have several bottles, one in my guitar case, one in the drawers in my music room, one in the locker I have at music school, and one in my handbag....it's also effective at resolve those surprises runs in your stocking, too! Good luck, and happy playing!

works for playing harp without blisters!
I have played harp for over a decade and always struggled with getting/ keeping good callouses in order to play for longer periods of time. I frequently get blisters and then need to reduce practice time for a few days. This is advertised for guitar players and I wasn't sure if it would work for my needs since harp is played in a very different way. I experimented with where on my fingers to apply, finally figuring out what works best for me. It was a little weird at first but after using a few times, I find I can play as normal, but with less pain, no blistering, and for longer periods!! I wish I had known about this when I first started playing harp and then preparing for recitals in college!! It lasts for about a day once applied. Most recently, it held up for a three hour set I played at a fundraising gala, and I even took two short breaks and washed my hands during that time. If it was recently applied and fully dried, it will not wash off with just soap and water, so that's good. It wears off by itself over time. Definitely going to keep this in my gig bag and on my music stand for long practice sessions!!! I also appreciate the facts that it's non-toxic and made in the USA! I like getting to support American manufacturers.
