The laptop fits perfectly. There's a separate padded section for the laptop itself, which is a perfect fit for the 17" model. The laptop goes in fairly easily, but if you're very fussy you need to make sure the zip doesn't catch on the laptop as you put it in. Over time I guess it MIGHT (and only might) slightly make the laptop. But it hasn't marked mine yet. The laptop section is in the very centre of the bag, and when everything is zipped up it means the handle is on top of the laptop. It's extremely well protected when it's in there as it's buried in the very centre of the laptop. The other sections, for accessories, iPad and so on are good.The zippered pockets have a clever rubber seal thingy, and certainly when I carried it through heavy rain the other day, everything seemed bone dry when I opened it. There's plenty of space for all sorts of extras. I take an audio interface, microphone, leads etc. The bottom is very sturdy, and again waterproof and wipeable. So if it gets dirty no problem to clean it up. And although it's not officially a rigid briefcase, it stays upright just fine. Very sturdy feeling. As it's highly 'structured', in the sense of have lots of compartments, that means that there's a little bit less space than you might think, as a lot of it is actually the dividers and so on.The one drawback I would say is this, there is one pocket which is not the same depth as the others, which is useful for mobile phone/wallet/keys etc. But there is no way to close it. So in the aforementioned rain shower things will get wet, and of course the things in are visible to thieves. Although it's useful to have things like those immediately to hand, it would be good if it could be zipped shut. Infact when my iPhone was nicked I'm pretty sure that's where it went from. A lot of the time (in the car, in the office, at home, with people you trust) it doesn't matter if things are on display, but it would be good if that section was zipped/velcroed or something.But overall a very good case. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Bag *by N***C on 26 October 2012* Quite large but very useful and excellent quality - does everything I need. Lots of space for laptop and all the extras. Like the IPad compartment.
