The user manual is terrible, however, the device is sturdy and performs as expected once you figure out how to connect it correctly. The "printer" jack end (USB B) of the connector plugs into the Yamaha P-115 USB port, and the USB A jack plugs into the Miditech USB MIDI Host MIDI Interface USB port. Even if mine was defective, it feels like a cheap piece of plastic with flimsy ports and I can’t believe it has a good review. I threw away the packaging while waiting on new midi cables so I can’t even return it, such a waste of money.
