Nothing comes close to these hot sticks! My hair is currently waist length and I can get a good curl in each section with ease and the brush out is always smooth and glossy - much better than a traditional wet set. It does take a moment to get used to tucking the hair in, but cotton gloves aide in the process and give you some extra time to make adjustments before the heat penetrates. As my hair is so long I have 2 sets of these rods, but I take really small sections to get a really tight curl! It's definitely overkill but it works great, and unlike other heated rollers these very rarely get caught in my hair unless I've done something weird/silly.
