I found these were being released on July 15th, 2020. Exactly what I wanted and works flawlessly!! Pre-ordered a pair of these controllers for my original NES hardware. The wireless adapter fits **NICE AND SNUG** into the ports on the console. The connection was automatically established once plugged in the wireless adapter, I turned on the NES, and pressed start on the controller. I immediately put in the Mike Tyson's Punch-Out cartridge (my go-to for these sort of response/lag tests) and went straight to the Mike fight. These controllers ARE FLAWLESS. NO LAG that I experienced, my dodges, punches, and jabs were on point. Tested from 3, 7, 10, and about 15ft. from the NES console......perfect. No complaints here! If you're looking for a perfect solution in a wireless controller to your old NES console, look no more. The 2.4G Wireless option is MUCH BETTER than any of the Bluetooth controllers controllers, hardly any lag that's noticeable. Each package comes comes with 1 controller and 1 wireless adapter, an instruction sheet, and 1 USB charging cable (you will need to plug this into an other USB power source, I don't think the original NES controller ports supply the correct voltage/amps to charge the controllers from the wireless adapter plugged into in the NES console. Nor are there any USB ports on the wireless adapter). The battery is built-in and is a 180mAh Li-on battery that claims about 18 hours of play from full charge. Controller has an auto-save feature that turns off in one minute with no connection and 15 minutes if connected but no input from the controller. No information that I can see on what type of USB power source is needed, but I tested it connected to a standard USB port (not mini, micro, or USB-C) on my computer, an Apple iPhone USB Power Adapter, and the USB ports on my APC Surge Protector Stripe, all charged the controllers without issue. Sidenote: I had just returned a pair of Hyperkin "Cadet" Premium BT Controller for NES before seeing these were coming out. Those controllers' wireless adapters (even though advertised as they do) do NOT fit in original Front Loader NES consoles. They barely fit in halfway and go in and out of making connections with with the 7-pins of the NES's controller ports. Stay away from them and go with these. 100% what you're looking for.

Works great with nearly imperceptible lag (if any at all). It feels just like an original (albeit with more buttons) but it doesn't interfere with your muscle memory when playing. The battery life is superb for such a small device, and given the wireless connectivity, it has quite the range for a tiny controller. (It is not smaller than the original controller, though. It just packs a lot of tech inside an NES controller.)

This controller is awesome. It holds a charge well, connects easily, and I haven’t noticed any lag at all while playing. Honestly, the best part is just being wireless. No more kids or dogs tripping over the cord and nearly pulling the whole console down, which has happened more than once at my house. It feels like the original controller, just way more convenient. Really glad I picked this up.

These are excellent controllers and perform really well on my NT Mini and MiSTer. The D-pad is accurate and responsive (I do not perceive any lag) although diagonals, sometimes, feel as if they are too easily disengaged, especially if you are not consciously mashing the button into the diagonal position. Another criticism is that the plastic used for the housing feels cheap. It is a smooth plastic that marks very easily and unlike the textured plastic used on 8bitdo's other controllers, for example, the SF and M30. MIne were already scratched out of the box and the areas where I place my fingers have started to get shiny despite only using them a few times. Finally, the colour of the controller is unlike the pictures. It's a dirty beige colour that doesn't look very pleasing in real life. Battery life is great and one charge easily lasts over 15 hours. Range is also very good and despite having four other 8bitdo receivers plugged into my machines, I've not experienced any interference or dropouts etc. Indeed, the connection is pretty solid. All in all a decent controller at a reasonable price ($25) although 8bitdo could have used better quality plastic in the controller's construction.

For those concerned about any input delay, unresponsive button presses, or typical 3rd party controller jank, i implore you to put those reservations to rest. I played through Battletoads two times, once with a wired and excellent condition OEM controller, and once with the N30 to really put this controller through its paces. Through the Turbo Tunnel, Rat Race, Clinger-Winger, and everything in between, I never missed an input or felt any lag. The buttons and D-pad feel shockingly identical, and with the controller being wireless, having no discernible input delay, and two non-intrusive (but easily accessible) turbo buttons, it’s hard to come up with reasons to use an original controller when the N30 exists. Hey, if it can beat one of the hardest games on the system with no trouble, what more of a selling point do you need? I’ll keep around a few OEM controllers for the sake of nostalgia, but I definitely don’t see myself unplugging the N30 from my system anytime soon.

I have a RetroUSB AVS system I've owned for 10 months now. At first, I bought the Retro-Bit Origin 8 controllers and was disappointed from the start with them. The receiver dongle on the Origin 8 does not fit tightly in the controller port, and Retro-Bit's customer service won't acknowledge the issue. I suffered along with the Origin 8 controllers until I saw this new 8Bitdo N30 translucent black controller! I had decided against the previous design of the N30 because it lacked a USB-C charge port. This new design has a USB-C charge port! Pros: The receiver dongle FITS SNUGLY AS IT SHOULD in the controller port of my RetroUSB AVS!! No lag! Great feel in your hands, feels more durable than the Retro-Bit Origin 8 controller. Looks great, I like the translucent black design. There is a blue light on the receiver and the controller that blinks when powered and goes steady when paired and ready, easy to see. USB-C charge port. Cons: The only con is the blue light on the controller is really bright, but that's only a minor, minor con. If you're trying to decide between this 8Bitdo N30 translucent black controller and the Retro-Bit Origin 8 controller, go for this one, hands down. I am extremely dissatisfied that Retro-Bit's customer service would never acknowledge the problem with the Origin 8 dongle fitting so loose, even with multiple complaints from myself and numerous others you can find in Amazon reviews of their product.

It’s an improved version of the original nes-004. Even the membranes feel like an improved oem nes 004. You will not regret getting one of these . I ran the entire game of Battletoads with this remote no warps no codes and this remote handled and responded like lightning

Excellent controller, helps to get rid of wires, looks great, works great. If you're a NES fan who is going to actually play games and not just collect old hardware, this controller is a good choice. It works very well, feels great in hand, and overall is a high quality product (just like the rest of 8bitdo controllers I bought over the years).

Soy muy difícil cuando se trata de aceptar controles que no son los originales de las consolas, pero este control superó mis expectativas por completo. Se siente excelente, de muy buena calidad y responde de inmediato sin lag sobre todo en juegos de precisión como Punch Out. La luz LED azul que emana del control puede llegar a ser molesta si juegas totalmente a oscuras. Lástima que desde hace tiempo solo tienen disponible la versión de color negro / transparente, me hubiera gustado poder conseguir el de colores.

Achetée pour ma Retron Hd le connecteur qui est censé se fixer sur la console ne peut pas rentrer suffisamment dans celle ci...donc inutile pour ce type de console...déçu.... A tester sur une originale.
