The RØDE PodMic USB is one of the most impressive microphones I’ve ever owned. From the moment you take it out of the box, you can immediately tell it’s built to an incredibly high standard. The all-metal construction feels absolutely top-tier, easily among the most premium microphones in its class. RØDE has built an outstanding reputation over the years, and this microphone is another example of why the brand continues to earn so much trust. I primarily use it for streaming, and the audio quality has been exceptional. My voice sounds rich, clear, and professional with very little effort. While it’s perfect for streaming, it’s obvious that this is a professional-grade microphone designed for much more demanding applications, including broadcasting, podcasting, voice-over work, and content creation. One thing worth mentioning is the weight. This microphone is surprisingly heavy, which speaks to its excellent construction, but it also means you’ll want a sturdy microphone arm. A lightweight or budget arm may struggle to support it properly, so investing in a quality boom arm is definitely worthwhile. Overall, I couldn’t be happier with this microphone. The premium build quality, outstanding sound, USB and XLR versatility, and the confidence that comes with buying a RØDE product make it an easy recommendation. If you’re looking for a microphone that feels and performs like professional studio equipment, the PodMic USB is absolutely worth every penny.

If you’re looking for a studio-level dynamic microphone for content creation, podcasting, Discord calls, or even professional voice work, the RODE PodMic USB is a phenomenal option. It delivers incredible sound quality out of the box—very crisp, well balanced, and with a rich, “full” sounding profile that brings a very pleasant warmth to your voice. What really impressed me was how close it can get to the legendary Shure SM7B (which runs for around $400) with just a simple EQ. The PodMic already sounds great with its punchy lows and clear mids, but with a small adjustment, you can bring out even more depth, giving it that classic SM7B-like sound profile. While it’s of course not identical, for roughly half the price, it’s remarkable how comparable it is for most use-cases. Another great feature of this mic is the dual-connectivity—you can use it through USB or XLR. This is really convenient if you don’t want to invest in an audio interface yet, but still want studio-level sound quality. This setup future-proofs the RODE PodMic beautifully—if you upgrade your gear in the future, the microphone effectively upgrades with it. When using USB, you also get zero-latency headphone monitoring with a dedicated volume knob, as well as access to internal DSP for further tuning via the Rode Central app. Now, let’s talk aesthetics. This thing is absolutely beautiful. It looks extremely premium on camera—the contrast between the dark grille and the clean white body gives it a very pleasing, modern aesthetic. It feels very solid and well-built too. Whether you’re new to the audio space, or already an enthusiast, the PodMic USB offers fantastic audio quality at a pretty competitive price-point. The compliments I’ve received on the quality of my voice with this mic have been numerous, however it wasn’t easy. The software is not good, and discord does not like it. That doesn’t deter me from the high rating, as it’s been rock solid since I set it up. So my suggestion is to download their software, set your preferences, and then delete it. The mic will remember your settings and you’ll be perfect from there on.

This RODE mic has made such a difference in my sound quality. I also really like the white color I chose. I was using another brand before and my sound was just a bit off. It was hard to put my finger on why or how to fix it. But with this RODE PodMic, the sound is amazing right out of the box. It is great for novice users because connectivity is basically plug and play. I use it with my Mac computer and have no compatibility issues. The weight is solid and it includes an optional pop cover.

I've owned and used several different mics over the years, from ones that plugged into my phone to USB mics to a Shure to this, and this is BY FAR the best-sounding mic I've used. This one's a keeper. Reviews and audio influencers had given me the impression R0de was a budget brand among the best, but they were wrong. Easily my best mic yet.

I am writing to express extreme dissatisfaction with a recently purchased microphone. Upon arrival, the device was completely non-functional. I connected the microphone to my Mac computer and headphones, but it produced only a persistent hiss and no audio input. Despite these standard setup procedures, the microphone failed to respond. The lack of basic functionality suggests a significant quality control issue. I cannot recommend this product.

Price is a bit high, and the headphone port can be a bit finicky as far as gain levels go since the dial on the back doesn't have start and end stops. The software or onboard processor can decide to make it a different gain level than you set it to (exacerbated by Windows' poor management of what apps can control mic levels). Once you get it all dialed in, it works without surprises or issues, but I wish I could disable monitoring through the headphones and switch to hearing the mix from my computer only. The mic looks and feels nice and premium, if a little prone to handling noises due to good but not great isolation. I love that the onboard processing means that it doesn't need to be connected to the same computer or software to sound consistent. This mic can be tuned using the desktop RØDE Central app to sound excellent for most voices. Every aspect of the PodMic is quite simple to use with the exception of that gain dial on the back and trying to balance both direct monitoring and mix levels, those take some fussing. Overall great product, I just wish it were about $180 instead of $200 for this quality and feature set.

Received it with a little scratch marks, which means it had been opened before. Easily noticeable as it’s white. Bought it at INR 23699.

OKAY. If I were reviewing just this microphone, I would have 0 complaints. It's perfect from top to bottom. However, I do have 2 complaints that have knocked this down a star. 1) The microphone came with very minor marks which makes me wonder if this was opened or if it missed inspection somehow, or was used. It is white which does make it a little obvious. 2) This is an expensive microphone. I do not intend to buy another one and certainly will not get just to have it in another color. Why did I order a white microphone and it comes packed with a black pop filter? Do I need to buy the matching color separately if I want it to match? Was this a mistake? If it isn't, this is ridiculous to me. If I ordered a white-bodied microphone it should be standard issue to come with a matching pop filter. If this is a money grab, it right pisses me off for such an expensive product. Even 30-dollar shoes come with properly matched shoe laces.

Over the moon with this. Not only can I connect this to my rodecaster. But it also connects to my phone so when I want to record voice overs I can plug it straight in . 10-10
