Performance Accurate readings: Each sensor keeps track of room temperature reliably—no weird swings, no lag. Scheduling: I can tell my Nest to prioritize the bedroom at night and the living room during the day. It actually feels like the system is paying attention to how I live. Seamless integration: They connected right away through the Nest app, and syncing with the thermostat was painless. Design The porcelain finish is clean and minimal. They’re small, subtle, and don’t look like clunky tech sitting around. Pros Easy setup and integration. Accurate room temperature tracking. Scheduling makes it easy to prioritize comfort where I need it. Sleek, subtle design. Cons Runs on batteries, so eventually I’ll have to swap them (not a dealbreaker). Bottom Line The Nest Temperature Sensors do exactly what they’re supposed to: make the whole system smarter, more comfortable, and more tailored to daily life.

These sensors has a more modern design than the 1st gen; but aesthetics aside, I am doubtful of the sensor accuracy. Worse yet, there is no way to manually calibrate the sensors in the app to remediate the possibility of manufacturing defect, rendering these sensors to be borderline useless. Some may suggest "mentally" adjusting the target temperature by a margin. but this is simply not a solution if the inaccuracy is not consistent across the sensor, which is what happened to mine. I ordered these sensors to manage the different hot and cold zones in my apartment, but I ended up getting more frustrated than setting the temperature manually on my Google Home app. I don't see how you can save energy with this if the sensor itself cannot even measure accurately in the first place. It's already ridiculous that we are forced to use this "official" sensor when there are cheaper wifi/bluetooth thermostats with additional functions that can already been ADDED/MONITORED by Google Home. So why can't Google just connect and coalesce all the devices data together with Gemini? If they can't do that, at least open the configuration for manual calibration.

Be warned. I failed to do my research properly and it was only after failing to be able to connect this to my Nest did I then realise that these little gadgets are not compatible with the UK versions of Nest thermostats. My sensor was shipped from the US so that probably should have prompted me to read up more before purchase.

Had it only for a few hours and its awesome, absolutely worth it. My thermostat is in a hallway, and there is an air intake underneath it and a bathroom beside it. The temp on my thermostat was never accurate and my bills were all over the place. I would constantly be adjusting it up or down at least 6 times during the day. Instead of hiring an HVAC person to run lines and cut through drywall and do all of that, chat gpt suggested that I just get a sensor. My house temp is now officially stable. Im so impressed. It showed rhat the hallway was actually 23.5 while the rooms were only 20. I cant wait to save a good amount of money because of this now that the thermostat isnt confused!

No, despite description claims it's compatible with the third generation learning thermostat it doesn't work due to software version issues, but there is no new software version available. Now need to go and investigate with Google Nest help. Painful.
