AT-LP70X Automatic Turntable (Black/Bronze)

This is a very good entry-level turntable. It comes with a VM95C cartridge which is one of the best values in cartridges under $100. It sounds good out of the box and will not damage your records. If you pair this with receiver or amp (like a Sony, Cambridge Audio, or Yamaha that’s under $400) and a pair of bookshelf speakers from Sony (SSCS5M2) or Klipsch Reference Seties, you will have a great system for focused near-field listening or casual background music. It It’s not going to compete with turntables that cost 2, 3, … times more. But it does well for the class it is in. Audio Technica makes other units that compete in higher categories. I have another Audio Technica unit, the AT-120USB, that is fully manual and has served me well for over a decade. I wanted another unit with auto return so that I could play records while entertaining and not worry about damaging a record (or stylus) if I couldn’t get to the turntable shortly after a record finished. It did a great job for several months but after having my AT-70X for nearly a year it started to have an issue with skipping on several records. I researched online and found that it was a known issue and covered under the warranty. I filed a service ticket on the Audio Technica webpage and in 2 days I got shipping box with instructions on shipping it back to them at their expense. When I filed the ticket, their customer service indicated that they would either fix it and return it to me or send me a new unit. 10 days later the shipment was delivered to me and it was a new unit. No hassles. No additional costs. The new unit sounds as good as the old one before it had issues. While it’s true that Audio Technica is not a boutique brand with that makes equipment with bespoke components, they make equipment for people who are looking for good value, and they stand behind what they sell. In full disclosure I have other more expensive manual turntables from other brands that sound as good or better than my Audio Technica stuff. But they are more finicky and require more attention to keep them going at their peak level of performance. For entry-level and casual listening, this is a very solid unit. The tone arm is compatible with their full line of VM95 cartridges, making it easy to upgrade over time.

I have tried cheap turntables or record players 2 times until I did some research. The LP70X is very user friendly. Ive bought some good quality speakers with it and my ears finally hear clarity and bass! I do enjoy the automatic toearm. I love the look of this too! Set and forget!

If you want to get into vinyl records, I highly recommend this as your first turntable. It’s easy to use, looks great, and offers excellent value for the money.

As someone just getting into vinyl, I couldn't be happier with the AT-LP70X. The fully automatic operation was one of the biggest reasons I chose it. Being new to records, I was honestly nervous about manually lowering the tonearm and accidentally damaging the stylus. The auto start and auto stop completely remove that worry, making it a much more enjoyable experience. I also love the design. It has a clean, modern look, but still feels timeless. The black and bronze color combination is elegant and looks right at home in my listening space without drawing too much attention. Setup was simple, it sounds fantastic, and it's made getting into the hobby stress-free. If you're looking for your first record player, I highly recommend this one. Easy 5 stars.

Superb turntable. Exceptional drive for a belt TT. Comes with a quality cartridge and my vinyl sounds great. The Black/Bronze color looks great with my wood furniture and has a very high end look and sound without the price. Excellent value.

Happy with my purchase here!! This is my first turntable and I found it very easy to set up and play records on. I also love the look of this record player, I don’t mind it sitting out in my living room. I connected it to my Marshall speaker (I did have to buy a separate cord that was not included in the box for this record player). Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who’s interested!

I wanted to get back into LPs after many years. This seemed like a good way to do so. When I first received the unit I was surprised at how lightweight it is and didn’t expect the main cabinet to be plastic. That is lack of research on my part. OK, what I was mostly concerned about was the sound quality. On quieter passages it sounded good. I did notice some distortion on louder portions of music, but thought maybe that is what LPs are supposed to sound like. A few weeks ago I decided to upgrade the needle (since the cartridge supports that feature). The new green needle didn’t sound any better and was skipping on virtually every record, so I returned it. Back to the original blue needle and the distortion has gotten worse, to the point of being unlistenable to me. There are no adjustments that can be made to the tonearm, and I am beyond the return period. Looks like this is headed to the garbage heap! Have ordered a Fluance RT-81 non-automatic turntable with the same Audio Technica cartridge with the green needle. It weighs more than twice as much as this model and has tracking adjustments. I hope I have a better experience with it.

Easy to set up. Need speakers. Has internal preamp. Does not have adjustable anti-skate or tonearm weight adjustment but factory setup has been fine so far. Shipping was no issue. Came safely. Packed very well.

This is my first turntable and I’ve been really enjoying the Audio-Technica AT-LP70X. It’s a great turntable for anyone getting into vinyl or someone who wants a simple setup without a lot of fuss. The automatic operation is one of my favorite features. It makes playing records easy since it starts and stops with the push of a button, and I don’t have to worry about manually moving the tonearm every time. Setup was quick, and it was up and running in no time. The sound quality is impressive for the size and price. Records sound warm, clear, and detailed, and the VM95 series stylus gives this turntable room to grow if I ever want to upgrade in the future. The built-in phono preamp is also convenient because it makes connecting to different audio setups much easier. I currently have it hooked up to some Logitech bookshelf speakers. The overall build feels solid, and it has been a great way to enjoy my vinyl collection. This is a fantastic choice for beginners or anyone who wants a reliable, easy-to-use turntable that still delivers great sound. It’s simple, looks good, and makes listening to records enjoyable.

Ela é boa. Vi muitas críticas negativas sobre ela, mas comigo até agora está ok. Estou com ela a quatro meses e funciona perfeitamente. Mas tenho algumas ressalvas, o tapete do disco solta muita fibra e acaba ficando preso na agulha o que faz o som ficar estranho e a gente tem que ficar limpando. Se a caixa de som for uma das boas recomendo não deixar no mesmo lugar dela por que a trepidação do próprio som faz pular a agulha. Vi algumas resenhas gringas que é so comprar um tapete de qualidade e trocar a agulha por uma superior, mas pelo valor que se paga deveria vir com tudo isso.

Toca-discos maravilhoso e super funcional. Atendeu perfeitamente ao que eu estava procurando. E a qualidade sonora é incrível.

Amazing out of the box performance even with the Blue VM95 Stylus. I will be upgrading to Red ML Stylus eventually, but the sound is great for now. With the option to swap stylus’ with any of the VM95 series in minutes is an amazing feature. The table spins at a steady speed, and the auto play/stop feature is smooth. This has a built in phono preamp, but I had the tube preamp laying around and I like the warmer tube sound, tried the built in and it sounded fantastic as well. Would purchase again, recommend this if you’re on the fence.
