Magic: The Gathering Foundations - Beginner Box

This is a very nice starter kit for two or more players, although the card pool in it is a bit on the thin side. It comes with several pre-made decks, two play boards that map out where cards go on the battlefield, and also has a physical rulebook, which is rare for MTG these days as Wizards has been fanatically pushing their online play platform (Arena) over paper Magic. For old fogies like me who don't play online MTG and prefer something tangible, this is great for teaching new players or getting your hands on a physical rulebook. There are several decks of varying colors, with some decent cards (but no really powerful rares). Still, for about $25 I feel like it was a good investment, just for the newer cards, rulebook and playing field boards. There's also room enough in the box to stash some more cards, tokens, etc. if you so desire. Recommended.

Good beginner box to learn, I like how the cardboard mat is and how it is detailed I would like to see a official mat like this and the beginner friendly designs of where to place everything would be on the mats on something more professional. If the owner is reading this I’d like a free one as a gift , the box is awesome.

Great starter kit for someone to learn or just getting into collecting. Comes with a variety of small decks to teach the basics.

A couple years ago I taught my daughters, 9 & 10, to play MTG over a three day ice storm and they liked it but we didn’t stick to it. Don’t know why but it got brought up and we tried it again with my girlfriend and it was a mixed bag. Then I bought the Foundations starter box and they love it! I just wish I could get them to switch to my cards, all from the 90’s. I highly recommend this Starter Box, it has, I think, 10 twenty card decks that you pick two of and mix them together and play 40 card games. They said they love the mats that it comes with. Have fun. I also recommend the Bloom burrow set, it’s bunnies, squirrels, and forest creatures, not zombies and monsters.

I really appreciate the included learning materials, plus I like the variety of challenger decks included. I like the card dividers, foldable board game style game mats, and included dice and counters. I absolutely love the fact that the included learning decks are premade so that you can follow along with the beginner guides, and that there is a reference for words and actions that otherwise would fly over heads. I do wish that the books were smaller and the box had more storage options, despite these small limitations, I think this is great for a beginner players and players looking to have a casual game of magic. (Plus this will teach my GF far better than I can lol)

I originally gave this product a 2 star review because I thought I was missing the 8 jumpstart decks, but then my friend pointed out that those decks are within the 2 larger decks and not separate items, so I'm now giving it a whole 5 stars because there's nothing wrong with it. Was able to get it for $18, so not bad at all. I tried playing MtG several years ago but at the time I just couldn't comprehend but now I feel I can at least learn the basics with my friends so this should help me.

This deck is very beginner friendly and attached are TWO step by step guides (for you and another player). In addition this product included 2 outlined play boards, two spin dials, a rule book, and other goodies. As someone who is just getting into Magic the Gathering - this product is outstanding! Regarding the price - the product is WELL WORTH THE VALUE! If you’re an experienced player and are looking for rare cards… I don’t believe I’d recommend this for you… The product was delivered right on schedule and with brand new SEALED packaging. Kudos to the seller! I’m impressed and incredibly satisfied! I can’t stress this enough - THIS IS AMAZING FOR BEGINNERS! I highly recommend!!!

Recently got back into MTG hater not having played since ‘99. The guided nature of this set will help any beginner get into the game.

Meilleure façon de commencer MTG selon moi pour découvrir si le jeu peut vous plaire et à vos proches. Je l'ai pris en anglais et c'est très facile à comprendre mais si vous êtes français prenez le dans votre langue, pas pour vous mais pensez à ceux à qui vous voulez faire découvrir le jeu.

Got this to start our (wife & I) Magic journey. It includes everything you need to have hours of fun and the jumpstart decks allow for various combinations and enable you to learn various mechanics and playstyles. Now my 7yo is begging me to play.. Another game that brings the family together.
