I put them in position and, as instructed, left them switched off for 72 hours. When I switched them on I was very pleased by the light given. However, in normal operation, the "solar panels" do not generate sufficient power to give any real illumination nor last any useful amount of time. There are brown streaks over the gutter and inside the unit. looks messy. The battery needs a good charge which it has not had, but when the sun does shine and charge the battery they do work .
