I bought the Bodega CR65L 12-volt refrigerator to replace the built-in Vitrifrigo C601BD4-F-1, primarily because of its size. If you've ever replaced a built-in refrigerator, you understand the tyranny of dimensions. We did have to make a few modifications to make it fit, but nothing too extensive.The installation was completed within the last week, so I don't have any long-term experience with the refrigerator yet. Frankly, I'd never heard of BODEGA before, but after watching several videos and reading a lot of reviews, I figured, "What the heck—let's give it a try."I would have preferred a model that ran on both 12 volts and 110V AC so the battery could get a break while we're plugged into shore power. That said, shore power keeps the batteries charged anyway, so it's not a deal breaker. I also understand that many newer RVs are now coming with 12- or 24-volt refrigerators only.After the installation, we set the refrigerator to 37°F, the same temperature as our refrigerator at home. It reached that temperature in under two hours, which was impressive—and something the $1,400 Vitrifrigo never managed to do. I also put a half-liter bottle of water in the freezer overnight, and by morning it was frozen solid. Another pleasant surprise.I'll probably remove the freezer door and use the entire unit as a refrigerator, although I do like that the freezer door has a magnetic catch to hold it open—a thoughtful touch. The digital control panel is clean, intuitive, and easy to use. Hopefully, I'll never need to open the owner's manual.For context, we live in California's Coachella Valley, where the average temperature this time of year is around 100°F. The refrigerator is installed in our 2017 Ford Transit high-roof, extended-length camper van.Like everyone else, the big question is longevity.We're leaving for Canada in a week or so and expect to be on the road for at least two months, possibly three. A dependable refrigerator is essential. We also have a BougeRV 30-quart refrigerator on a slide-out in the rear of the van that we use primarily for beverages, while the Bodega CR65L will handle most of our food.If you never hear from me again, you'll know everything is working perfectly.If something does go wrong, I'll contact BODEGA first, as I've heard they have good customer support. If I need support and don't receive it, I'll come back and post an update.In the meantime, we'll be "Craic'n & Laxin'" on the road.

Absolutely hate it when manufacturers leave on the manufacturing protective film after assembly. Pieces of plastic protective film sticking out from behind coverings that are non-removable. Do better!

The refrigerator fits well in our motor home. It holds quite a bit. We had an issue with our shelves breaking off the door while on the road. Bodega offered to send us a whole new door with us paying the shipping bc it is out of warranty. Which was nice, it’s better than nothing. Easy to work with. We were out of the year warranty bc we were on the road…but having that break in the door mold causes ice to form in the freezer faster. So I wouldn’t suggest putting cans in the door shelves. If you hit a Big bump…your shelves are toast.

Pretty nice little 12v refrigerator.On the upside it cools very quickly, it's fairly quiet, and it draws a reasonable amount of power, actually quite a bit less than advertised so I am quite pleased.The downsides are minor. The door, latch and door seal are not built really strong.Overall I can definitely recommend this unit for a van or RV because of it's functionality and it is quite lightweight.If anything changes I will be back to tell you about it.

In 2017 I bought a Ford cargo van to convert into a camper. I spent nine months doing the conversion and produced a very satisfying except for one thing. The refrigerator I installed although still going strong turned out to be too small for satisfaction. It is an Engel almost the identical volume capacity as this Bodega. As most DIY camper builders do I installed a cabinet that uses the rear half of the door space that opens up when the slider is all the way open. I used the cabinet as a place to store a propane tank, a water reservoir, and some tools. A mishap that occurred using a propane bottle inside the van to boil water brought it home to me dramatically that carrying propane inside the van was not a safe thing to do. I immediately decided from now on no more gas bottles or tanks inside the van and now have trailer hitch mounted carrier that I use. The next decision was to scrap carrying a space consuming water reservoir in the cabinet so I could free up space to install this Bodega refrigerator. We've just returned from a three week road trip tour of Utah and I cannot say enough good things about how much better this bodega is than our other fridge. The freezer freezes, the space inside is more useable because it doesn't have angled walls like the Engel, it is quieter, it has an insulated door to the freezer and more room, it has instrumentation to display what the temperature is and enables you to set the temperatures precisely. I don't believe there is any other brand of refrigerator for a van that competes with it when you take the price into consideration.

I upgraded from a top opening fridge for my van and this is SO much better. It's small enough to fit in the space I needed but holds a lot. I like the bottom drawer and LOVE that there is a small freezer compartment. The app works good to keep the fridge in eco mode. I did have the condenser start to make noise, but the foam had just pulled off of it a bit. I secured it with electrical tape and no more problems.

Look at the other negative reviews! You’ll find that the door hinges are a common point of failure. They are short and mount into plastic. Because the fridge has no proper locking mechanism all it takes is a bump in the road and your fridge door will rip out of the plastic. I ultimately had to jerry rig this on a trip to Alaska (lots of bumpy roads) by bolting the door on. I made it limp through the trip but this just isn’t a quality product. If you buy it for an off grid cabin it should be fine.

Works great. Would be 5star if it would hold temp longer. Runs alot.
