Review: Good! - My dog likes these a lot. I usually use these as a topper on her food.
Review: This booster to your dog's daily diet adds enzymes, good bacteria, and amino acids for improved digestion and immune system - I feed a raw diet to my large German Shepherd and I used to periodically include either canned or fresh (in frozen form) tripe. Now that I found this freeze-dried version of tripe, I think I'm converted forever. It's so much easier and less smelly to keep on hand and use. Tripe is the stomach of grazing animals--in this case, lamb. All of the naturally-occurring enzymes, good bacteria and amino acids that help animals digest grass remain in the tripe and are equally beneficial for giving a boost to dogs' digestive and immune systems. I'd recently noticed that, despite his good diet, my big Ferg was having some weird stomach issues. Due to the sorry state he was in when we rescued him as a pup, he'd spent months recovering from bacterial and giardial intestinal inflammation and still has an occasional short-lived flareup years later. But these more recent issues had more to do with daily loud stomach noises and discomfort rather than his intestinal inflammation and diarrhea flareups. His vet gave him a thorough checkup and found nothing wrong with his gastrointestinal tract, so I consulted with a local animal nutritionist. She suggested adding tripe back into his diet on a daily basis (up until recently, I'd only added it occasionally). Ferg's getting older and has some other health issues,so she felt that, even though he eats a healthy diet and takes probiotics, that the added enzymes from the tripe might make a difference. It's made a huge difference. I've been including this freeze-dried tripe in his twice/daily feedings for over a month now. The horrible, loud stomach sounds that used to awaken me, my husband, and Ferg every morning are gone, as is his frantic need to eat grass as soon as he goes outside. He seems happier now (because it's hard to be a happy dog when your stomach is bothering you!). As I mentioned earlier, this form of tripe is SO much easier to deal with. The resealable bag comes with a decent amount of pinky-finger-sized "extrusions" of freeze-dried tripe. Some are broken into kibble-sized pieces, others are links about 1-2 inches long. There's little to no odor while they're in their dehydrated state. Once you reconstitute them, though, that barnyard smell is there! Still, it's a much easier and less smelly way to add tripe to your dog's daily diet in my opinion. This tripe isn't exclusively for raw-fed dogs. You can also supplement kibble or canned meals. You can either add a bit of it on top of kibble or feed "tripe only" as a small separate meal to add enzymes and probiotics to their intestinal tract. While most dogs will happily eat the tripe in it's packaged dry form, it's better for them if you add a bit of water or other liquid to it. Besides the excellent health benefits, the best part of tripe is that most dogs LOVE it. Mine adores it and goes into wiggle mode when he sees the bag come out. What is it with dogs and stinky stuff??! They also carry this in "Beef Tripe" version. I bought one bag of it, but it turned out to cause an itchy allergic reaction in my dog. Within minutes of eating the beef tripe, the inside of his ears became bright pink and he began chewing his feet. The itching went away by next day, so several days later I tried a small amount again just to make sure it really WAS the beef tripe and not just coincidental timing. It was. Not sure why it bothered him since he hasn't shown an allergy to beef in other forms. One other odd thing about the beef tripe -- I expected it to smell as strong or even stronger (bigger animal, bigger smell?), but was surprised that it had minimal odor compared to the stinky lamb tripe. Per the bag labeling, this tripe BOOSTER isn't intended to be fed solely as your dog's only source of meals, but rather added as a supplement or booster to your dog's regular food.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What are the ingredients? and % of each ?**
A: K9 Natural Lamb Green Tripe Boosters are made from 100% Lamb Green Tripe.
- The K9 Natural Team.

**Q: what other ingredients are in this product?**
A: Ingredients
Lamb, Lamb Blood, Lamb Tripe, Eggs, Lamb Liver, Lamb Heart, Lamb Bone, Sunflower Oil, Flaxseed Flakes, Brown Kelp, Lamb Kidney, Cabbage, Broccoli, Chard, Carrot, Cauliflower, Dried Kelp, Calcium Carbonate, Apple, Pear, New Zealand Green Mussel, Beta Carotene, Vitamin D, Vitamin E Supplement, Zinc Proteinate, Iron Proteinate, Copper Proteinate, Manganese Proteinate, Thiamine Mononitrate, Folic Acid, Selenium Yeast.

**Q: Roughly how many pieces would equal 1 oz of fresh green tripe?**
A: Hi Amy,

Thank you for your enquiry. K9 Natural Beef Green Tripe pallets can differ in size based on seasonal variation. This is due to us only using the best, freshest ingredients sourced in New Zealand and can result in slight changes in the product.

We recommend measuring the amount of food you wish to feed your dog, although 1oz is consistent with two tablespoons of product.

Warm regards,
The Team at K9 Natural

**Q: Is this okay to feed 8 week old puppy?**
A: I would not feed it to an 8 week old puppy. It is a good product but it is extremely high in protein and if a dog gets too much protein it can cause convulsions. This happened with my 8 year old lab. If you want to feed it I recommend that you be very cautious, only give a 1/2 inch piece once a day, and watch your dog carefully for any signs of convulsions such as drooling or slobbering. Good luck.

Smells horrible, but my baby must love the taste because if I go anywhere near the bag he will immediately start acting cute.
