Review: I Love Navy Beans - Peace Be Unto All Present, I received my beans day before yesterday, ( Friday, 03/13/2015 ), put enough in kosher-salt soaking in a 5qt mixing bowl, which the following day. I rinsed and then placed them in a 6 1/2qt enameled cast iron dutch oven; I then placed them in my oven at 225 degrees for a duration of 7 hours. First brining in kosher salt, and then Slo-o-o-ow cooking is the secret to arriving at beans with tender skins and excellent bite that melt in your mouth. **Q: Where are these grown?**
A: Hi Amber -We checked with our supplier and the Dried Navy Small White Beans are grown in Nebraska!  Thank you for asking and we hope this answers your question.

A: Multiple sources since they are grown in various states throughout the United States.

**Q: Are they organic?**
A: No they are not Organic, but they are NON- GMO

**Q: Can these sprout if soaked? Thanks in advance.**
A: Not sure. We eat them. But they don't have any processing other than cleaning, so they should sprout. Even some beans 5 years old will sprout if watered. I suggest you take a dozen or so, put them between 2 soaked paper towels in a warmish (65+) degree room and see what happens. These appear to be the same as you would buy in a grocery and those sprout.
Anyway, my son buys 'seed beans' and innoculates them for planting each spring. I'll have him try some of these next year.

### ⭐ These beans were so old in 2017 pressure canning impossible

I bought these beans in 2017 knowing nothing about dried beans. Over the years I've learned a lot. These beans were so old when I received them that soaking them overnight and processing in a pressure canner for 90 minutes would not soften them. Still I thought it was my fault. I soaked them in a baking soda bath, rinsed and cooked them on top of the stove for three hours and then processed in my All American pressure canner for 90 minutes. The beans emerged hard as a rock. It's many years later and I am still bitter about the time and energy spent on these very, very old beans.
