Lowepro LP37123-PWW Nova Camera Bag, Waterproof, Customizable, Fits Pro-Depth DSLR with Lens, Compact drone, 3-4 Additional Lenses, Flash, Black, 180 AW II

Only had this 20 minutes... I want to carry a Canon 7DmkII, 17-55mm f2 lens usually permanently fitted and a 70-300mm L zoom with me. I've already got 2 different sizes of Lowepro back packs to carry more stuff, but both are too big and too heavy to carry around for most of the time. So, having tried the nearly equivalent Amazon basics bag that I've also reviewed and returned, I bit the bullet and paid the extra to get the Lowepro, helpfully on offer price with Amazon. It's the usual Lowepro quality - strong nylon bag, lots of padding, recessed zippers, lots of useful little features (key holder is a brilliant idea), waterproof cover and in every respect, it's the same build quality as my BP350 and Pro runner. I can even get the camera body with battery pack fitted into the bag FOOTNOTE: After 2 months, the stitching to the shoulder strap pad has come undone. This has shown up a weakness with Amazon in that although they are replacing the bag for me, they needed to be reminded of their obligations under various consumer protection regulations.

I already have a large Lowepro backpack which holds pretty much all my camera kit (5dmk III with 4 lenses) however I needed something smaller to easily carry just the body and a couple of lenses. This Nova 180 fits this requirement perfectly. It is built to the usual Lowepro standards, quality is exceptional and has enough space to accommodate all I need for a day trip. It comes with enough dividers to easily reconfigure the internal space. I have set it up for the 5dmkiii 24-70 f2.8 and 16-35 f4 with some unused space. I went for the mica/camo option as it looked a little more 'interesting' thank just the plain black. It looks far more subtle in real life. I am hopeful that I when flying I can have the Nova and an everyday rucksack as carry on.

Thoughtfully designed with lots of extra storage space for accessories in every part of the bag. No space is wasted - zipped pockets, unzipped pockets, elasticated pockets. Zips recessed and rubber covers to prevent damage to your camera, lcd screens and lenses. All weather protection from zipper closure around the lid which also generously overlaps the main body of the bag and there is a rain cover hidden away in a zippered compartment (near the base of the bag) which is attached to the bag so it won't get lost, and covers the front and top of the bag. Plenty of room to fit my full frame camera (Pentax K1 - 11) with standard zoom attached, 100mm macro and another lens, small torch etc. Comfortable shoulder strap and padded handle on the bag lid. With all of these fantastic features and more, why have I only given four stars. Well, my Pentax camera is quite heavy and pushes the base of the bag out. The projecting camera lens is therefore vulnerable to impact damage e.g. if the bag is placed heavily on the ground. I have overcome this by putting extra reinforced padding in the base of the bag, which I obtained from a similarly sized old camera bag. This has eliminated the problem and now I am 100% pleased with the bag.

This is my 3rd Lowepro camera bag. This one fits my mirrorless camera with 18-400 lens including hood easily. Comfy and compact enough to wear the shoulder strap cross body and the flip up lid allows quick access to my camera whilst keeping dirt out. Plenty of secure pockets for spare batteries and mobile phone etc. The pull out waterproof cover only stretches over the front and top of the bag. Fabric waterproofing spray is strongly recommended for the rest of the bag. A piece of cheap camping / exercise mat will add extra internal padding to the bottom to protect your gear from accidental impact !

Made of lightweight materials & with a generous shoulder pad this bag carries my micro 4/3rd kit comfortably, with the OM5 a snug fit across the width I still have four compartments for extra lenses & equipment , & of course the bag has plenty of other pockets for spare batteries, cards , phone , cables & cloths. The permanently attached waterproof cover has its own pocket on the bottom front & the elasticated end pockets can hold drink containers. Suits me perfectly & I bought it during Amazon's spring deals so got it at a great price as well. having just got it I can't speak of its durability yet.

Bought this as a smaller bag now that I have changed to a Z7 mirrorless from a larger DSLR. I still use my larger backpack but wanted a shoulder bag for walking about with especially as I find it easier to access for changing lenses etc. The bag is very nicely made and there is sufficient space for the Z7 with fitted 24-70 F4 and sat two smallish additional lenses. It will take (just) my 70-200 F4 but I would only pack that when I know I would need it as a lens that large does take up a lot of room and defeats the object of having something smaller to carry around (especially with the FTZ adapter). The price on Amazon was extremely competitive and I went for the khaki coloured one to make a change from all black. Very pleased with the choice. I have an old Nova 1, which must be twenty years old at least and is still as good as new. In fact, I am using it again for the Z7 for when I just want to take the camera and a spare battery on a walk.

A nice bag but not big enough for the money

I wanted a non-rucksack to carry a full frame camera + spare lens + filters and this is great. It also includes a weatherproof cover. This offers significanly more space than the manfrotto advanced shoulder bag L Negatives: The amount of room this provides means it can get pretty heavy; at this point a half-empty rucksack is more balanced and comfortable so my use of this is fairly niche. The clips are plastic which makes me suspicious of long term durability. This seems at odds with everything else about the bag which is incredibly well made and rugged.

Carrying and storing my camera

Die Tasche ist im Prinzip, bis auf ein paar cm identisch mit der AW170, die habe ich (siehe unten) bereits ausführlich beschrieben. Die 170er habe ich jetzt allerdings mit Erhalt der 180er zurückgeschickt weil sie mir im Gebrauch doch etwas zu knapp war (Grund siehe ebenfalls unten). Die 180er ist innen genau so groß wie ich es eigentlich von der 170er erwartet hatte. Maße der AW180 innen, Breite x Tiefe x Höhe ca.24x12x19cm Alles was ich über die 170er geschrieben habe gilt 1zu1 auch für die 180er. Bei der 180er sind lediglich 2 Trennstege mehr dabei und statt einem Speicherkarten Fach gibt es zwei. Nachfolgend meine Rezension zur 170er die finden Sie natürlich auch direkt unter AW170. Zur Tasche Model AW170. Es gibt gleich zu Beginn auch ein Manko und das ist leider kein Kleines. Das Manko bzw. Ärgernis ist, die falsche Maßangabe. Die Außenbreite wird mit 26cm angegeben, das stimmt aber nicht, denn es sind nur 24cm, das Innenmaß beträgt somit nicht wie von mir angenommen 24cm sondern entsprechend nur 22cm und das ist für meinen Bedarf gerade noch genug und wirklich kein cm zu viel. Aber noch mal Glück gehabt und deshalb auch keinen Punktabzug, weil der Rest ist einfach zu gut. Ich hatte vorher alles ausgemessen und war deshalb etwas überrascht, das es so knapp passte, ich hatte etwas mehr Luft erwartet aber egal es passt und die Tasche ist schön klein. Die Tasche ist eine echte Loewe Pro, Ausstattung durchdacht, da hat beim Entwurf auf jeden Fall ein Fotograf mitgewirkt. Ich habe schon seit Jahren auch das Modell AW200 und noch nen Fotorucksack darum wusste ich schon was mich erwartet. Ich wurde nicht enttäuscht. In der AW170 habe ich nur meine Nikon D750 mit dem Tamron 28-300 DI einsatzfertig mit aufgesetzter Streulichtblende. An der Kamera ist ein L-Winkel montiert, die Kamera liegt auf der Seite, mit der Griffmulde nach oben. Loewe Pro typisch ist der Einhand Clip am Deckel. Der Reißverschluss bleibt auf Tour normalerweise offen, meist sogar auch der Clip, da der Taschendeckel sehr gut überlappt und auf normalen Wegen keine Gefahr besteht, das was raus fallen könnte. Die Kamera trage ich normalerweise nur mit Handschlaufe in der rechten Hand, somit ist nur ein Griff notwendig und die Kamera ist draußen und genau so schnell auch wieder drin. Hab ich bedenken mach ich mit der gleichen Hand auch noch den Clip zu. Das Material ist hochwertig, der Reißverschluss vorn außen am Deckel, da pack ich immer mein Handy rein, hat sogar eine Gummilippe.Auf der Rückseite befindet sich noch eine flache Reißverschluss Tasche, sehr gut geeignet für Heft und Stift. Eine flache Geldbörse oder eine Wanderkarte gehen auch noch locker rein. Zusätzlich ist ein Durchschub für nen Trolley etc. vorhanden. Im Deckel der vorderen Tasche, befindet sich ein eingenähter Regenschutz, einfach den Klettverschluss unten am Taschendeckel öffnen, den Regenschutz heraus und über die Tasche ziehen, fertig. Das geht auch mit einer Hand ohne die Tasche abzunehmen. In der vorderen Tasche befinden sich nebeneinander zwei Netztaschen. In einer davon habe ich zwei Ersatzakkus, in der daneben, einen kleinen Blasebalg, eine kleine Sprühflasche und einen Objektipinsel . Hinter den Netztaschen gibt es noch eine dritte Tasche über die ganze Breite, da habe ich ein paar Mikrofasertücher verstaut. Außerdem gibt es in der vorderen Tasche noch einen eingenähten Stoffträger mit kleinem aber trotzdem massivem Kunststoffkarabiner. Da kann man z.B. noch nen Schlüsselbund sichern. Das Hauptfach ist (BxTxH) ca. 22x11x 20cm groß. Auf der Vorder und Hinterseite gibt es je zwei Klettstreifen zur Befestigung der Trennstege. Mitgeliefert werden 3 Trennstege, davon zwei die im oberen Teil umgeklappt werden können, davon einer sogar noch mit angenähter Flach-Tasche. Der dritte Steg ist ein normaler Trennsteg. Wie schon gesagt, liegt bei mir die Kamera und füllt die Tasche über die komplette Breite voll aus, folglich benötige ich die Stege nicht. Hinten verläuft noch eine oben offene Flachtasche über die gesamte Breite und Höhe. Da hab ich meine Filter ND / CPL GND etc. Im Deckel gibt es auch noch Innentaschen. Eine kleine Netztasche für eine Ersatzspeicherkarte mit überlappendem elastischen Deckel, da kann nichts aus versehen so einfach raus fallen. Das gilt übrigens für alle Taschen entweder Reißverschluss oder elastisch mit Gummi. Zusätzlich gibt es noch eine Reißverschluss Tasche über die gesamte Breite. Ich habe da die Funkfernbedienung mit zwei Ersatz Batterien die Okularabdeckung und ne Ersatz Gummi Augenmuschel drin. Außen gibt es links und rechts noch jeweils eine geräumige Netztasche, da geht bei Bedarf locker noch ne kleine Flasche Mineralwasser rein und/oder ein kleiner Regenschirm. Die AW200 hat auf der Unterseite drei Gummiriegel, damit steht die Tasche beim Abstellen nicht mit dem Stoff auf dem Boden. Die AW 170 hat das leider nicht, kann ich aber gut darauf verzichten weil ich ja nur eine fertig montierte Kamera drin habe und somit die Tasche normalerweise nie absetzen muss, zumindest nicht da wo ich nicht will. Von meiner AW200 weiß ich über die Jahre, dass die Tasche im Prinzip unkaputtbar ist. Obwohl meine AW200 jetzt seit mehreren Jahren fast täglich im Gebrauch ist und mit Inhalt ca. 6 kg wiegt, ist sie immer noch schön und sieht noch fast neu aus, nichts, absolut nichts ist kaputt oder gerissen. Ich bin sicher, dass die deutlich kleinere AW170 genauso stabil und solide verarbeitet ist. Für mich sind die Loewe Taschen und Rucksäcke das Maß an dem sich die anderen Hersteller messen lassen müssen. Ich habe in den Jahren mindestens zwei Dutzend Taschen/Rucksäcke besessen und verschlissen. Einige davon hab ich auch noch irgendwo im Keller aber die meisten waren einfach untauglich, schlecht gearbeitet billiges Material, aber vor allem, entworfen vermutlich von Leuten die keine Ahnung haben bzw. nicht selbst Fotografieren. In der kleinen AW170 habe ich jetzt meine Minimalausrüstung, und bleibe damit extrem flexibel, statt 6kg und vier Objektiven nur noch ein Objektiv und nur noch knapp 2kg, fühlt sich an als ob ich plötzlich fliegen könnte. Meinerseits klare Kaufempfehlung und volle 5 Sterne.
