I replaced all 4, which helped, but unfortunately, the drum bearings had failed and also needed to be replaced. The shocks were easy to install, as you can break the locking tabs removing the old units. These seemed to be identical to the original parts and work well, especially after replacing the drum bearings (a much more major project, but reasonable if you are handy). Very happy with the results, the machine works like new, and the new shocks are working well. This was the first time that I have ever taken the front or back off of a washing machine but I am way too frugal a bugger to overpay some bloke to repair something that I can learn how to do.
