I bought this violin, the solid wood variety in the 1/4 size for my six year old who’s just starting out on the violin and I honestly wasn’t expecting much. I had very low expectations of this instrument. But it actually tunes up and stays in tune pretty well and it sounds and plays quite nicely. Since my son has been very serious with practice and lessons, we decided to rent him a “real” violin from a local violin shop, and when I played the two side by side, it took me a long time to really decide which one sounds better. I mean seriously, it was a tough call. I almost chose to send the more expensive rental back to the store, but at the end of the day, it has a much cleaner, clearer sound than this violin, which I think would be best for a new student. If you’re an adult student and you don’t have a practiced ear, you could pretty really enjoy this instrument. It has a very warm, mellow sound, but it’s not as loud as other “real” violins. Not a bad buy if you just want to see how you like the instrument. Of course you could also just rent a decent student violin for $35-$40 instead of buying a cheap one for over $100. I would recommend it though. I have been playing the violin for 15 years

I would give more than a 5 star for this product as I love violin I had back in my home town and was searching it here. This is worth and the way they have packed everything makes you feel comfortable to learn and tune more. The String quality is based on how you use it meaning it is good but you should take some care if you are a beginner. The sound quality will be good if you are adjusting the tune accordingly and advised to use the tune box or an app to adjust the tune if you are a beginner. The extra add ons are a key to purchase this and the slip resistance is how you place it. Because it is not having the neck holder so better you can check and have it for yourself.

Alright for the price but like most people the strings snapped right as I tried to tune it and it doesn’t keep a tune very well but that’s how it is with most violins I’ve noticed but for a beginner it’s great and it is a 4/4 full size violin

I got this set for a community youth orchestra I work with. It arrived quickly and well packed, and it really comes with absolutely everything a beginning violin player needs. I was expecting to need to set it up (bridge, strings etc) but it came strung and was only a step out of tune (which is all the more impressive because I'm in Texas and it's 110F out today). The strings it comes with are a little shrill, but fine for a beginner and easy to swap out. It comes with a very functional shoulder rest, two bows (adequate), a spare set of strings, a finger placement decal, clothes for wiping the instrument down, two kinds of rosin (both light), a tuner (with battery), and a heavy rubber mute. The pegs and fine tuners all turn easily. Very basic quality, but very usable beginner instrument and a great package.

We purchased this item because it seemed like a great value for an inexpensive violin based on the following statement in the product description: "Play Immediately： When the violin is shipped, the bridge is installed, the strings are adjusted to the standard pitch, and the bow is rubbed with rosin. After receiving the product, it can be used immediately with simple debugging. Let the violin buying and using experience reach its peak.". The item is NOT tuned and ready to play. sounded terrible out of the box. Strings broke on first use. Do not buy this product. it would have a zero start if Amazon allowed it.When we rosined it the strings sounded terible You

The strings that came on it broke while tuning, but the instrument is good quality for the price. New strings (included) are holding tune and have been played for a few hours. Just be prepared to immediately change the strings. Comes with everything needed to start.

Shipped in solid packing inside case with no damage . Coming from guitar and mandolin ,this is a great quality Violín for the money . Cant really play it yet , but after owning plenty cheap instruments and very expensive instruments I can tell the quality is pretty good for just over 100.00 . Comes with quality case and plenty extras such as two bows , tuner ,strap, and two rosens . Did not have to assemble anything . Ive had instruments with floating bridges before which would be hard to adjust for a novice if they had to assemble this Violín. All and all a great purchase .

When I originally bought this violin, I missed the fact that I had mistakenly chosen plywood style. Speaking from experience, plywood style is no good because… Let’s face it… Give it six months and you’ll be replacing an instrument due to deterioration and breakage. I’m about to start teaching three of my kids violin. Personally, I did not want to spend money on an instrument and then have to spend more six months later. Thus, I returned my first purchase and bought the solid wood style, which is what I desired from the very beginning, anyways. I’d rather spend a little extra money NOW to get the size that my kids currently need and have it not break on them down the road. I am very pleased, and my kids are excited to begin their lessons. I would/will buy again in the future.
