This thing is marvelous! We have an HVAC system in the ceiling which caused a leak which damaged the ceiling. That's all fixed now, and we've installed this battery powered, WiFi leak detector's sensor right in the spot where the water will drip. Really simple to install, and we already had a SwitchBot mini-hub. Now, if there's a drip, the alarm will ring a 100DB (loud) , but even more importantly, it will trigger a routine in Alexa! So now, if there's an issue, Alexa will announce throughout the house, what the issue is, and (because we included the directions) instruct whoever's here to shut off that HVAC immediately to prevent further damage! If I had elderly parents living alone, I'd consider putting a few of these in places where there might be an issue with water, such as under their sinks, beneath their dishwasher, on the floor next to the washing machine, etc. Then, if there was a problem, it can also send an email to the responsible family member to alert them! BTW, it's not just 1 sensor. There's a sensor built into the unit, but there's also another one connected by a 2 foot cord. You could put the unit under the kitchen sink AND the sensor on the floor under the dishwasher! Lastly, and this is also interesting, you CAN set the sensor to work to detect when there is NOT water present. Maybe on the edge of an in-ground pool, that if the water gets too low (below the skimmers) that someone would be notified, since running the pools filtration system without sufficient water can result in damage to the equipment. Actually, if you had the pool equipment controlled by Alexa, you could use the "dry" situation to shut down the pool equipment, thereby protecting your equipment automatically!

Works well, loud enough alarm to hear from basement, good price. Great for leak detection anywhere in your home!

I am not a techy and was able to set these up with relative ease. They are excellent at detecting water immediately. the problem is getting alerts (not alarms, but texts and emails) either because they have gone off-line or some other reason which I can’t explain. I like that they come with or without a cord that can get tucked in somewhere where the device itself cannot reach. despite the alerts mentioned, I am so happy with them because they bring peace of mind

Worked exactly as advertised. Since my HVAC unit is located inside my apartment, I decided to place one of these devices underneath it for added protection. The setup process was quick and easy, and the device supports Wi-Fi connectivity as well. After testing it, I received all notifications promptly and without any issues. Overall, it performs reliably and provides great peace of mind. Highly recommended!

Great product, supports WiFi without a hub/gateway

Horrible website trying to set up. Won't accept my sign up. Website gives you about 10 seconds to input a verification code yet you have to individually type each one by clicking numbers on screen. Stupid. Took many tries. Then everytime i created an account the website wiped out my information when I hit enter. Again this happened over and over. Frustrating and the site is bloated and instructions not written from a user perspective or English. I contacted customer service using an alias email. I am now getting malware emails to that e-address. I have contacted the company to share this information. I am so glad I did this because the email had information that this company used and somehow it ended up in phishing and malware emails to me from the one email I used to communicate with this companies customer service.

I had purchased the water sensor with the long sensor cord for my sump pump. I wanted to get alerts as the water was rising but before it spilled out onto the floor. The sensor having a long cord allowed me to do this. Most sensors have to have contact with the water on the sensor body in order to get an alert. I was also searching for a product that gave push notifications without a monthly subscription fee. The switch bot leak detector accomplished this. So far has been a great/ reasonably priced product. The setup was also very simple. Thanks!

I used this leak sensor for my HVAC emergency water overflow pan. It connected easily to my SwitchBot app and it tested out just fine. It will alert me if the air conditioner condensate drain backs up and starts dripping in the pan. Happy with it so far.

I'm using this sensor to monitor water level in my sump pump pit. The product was easy to install and connect to my wifi. So far so good...no issues or complaints and battery is still at 100% after 6 months of use. Great product for the price.

J’ai acheté le détecteur de fuite d’eau SwitchBot pour sécuriser mon appartement, et j’en suis très satisfait. L’installation est ultra simple : il suffit de placer le capteur à l’endroit souhaité et de le connecter à l’application SwitchBot, sans besoin de hub supplémentaire. Je l’ai installé sous mon chauffe-eau et je prévois d’en installer un autre prochainement sous mon évier équipé d’un système de filtration avancé. Le détecteur est très sensible, il réagit immédiatement à la moindre trace d’eau et déclenche une alarme sonore. J’apprécie aussi la réception de notifications instantanées sur mon smartphone, ce qui me rassure même lorsque je ne suis pas chez moi. Le design est compact et discret, il se glisse facilement sous un évier ou près d’une machine à laver. L’autonomie annoncée est excellente, et il fonctionne avec des piles classiques. Le rapport qualité-prix est vraiment bon pour un appareil connecté de ce type. Je recommande ce détecteur à tous ceux qui veulent éviter les mauvaises surprises liées aux fuites d’eau !

Lo compré para vigilar la lavadora y otro para el aparato de osmosis (tengo un sótano que se inunda cuando menos lo esperas). Es una chiquitina que te salva de sorpresas. Lo mejor: Detecta agua en 1-2 segundos y el móvil explota con notificaciones, app perfecta, batería que dura más de un año y se conecta directo al Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz sin hub. Es lo que más valoro conjuntamente a tener el detector con cable o en dispositivo de manera que puedes tambien viligar que el agua no llegue a un cierto nivel.

initial issue: I placed the batteries, and tried the sensor cable, it straight up doesn't work, the sensor on the front of the device does, but no the back and the sensor cable, useless Edit: there are tiny pins behind the device, if you realize that your cable doesn't work either, push the pins forward with something and put the cache back on this device is amazing, you get an alarm that you can tone down or straight up disable it, and still have the notifications on your phone, i use it in a 70L trash bin that i use to store water for aquarium water changes that i have marked with different quantities of water (20,30,40,50,60L) i placed the cable sensor in and hold it with a magnet on the exterior so i can adjust the height of it and get a notification when my RO water reaches the desired amount of water i need
