AIMILAR Round Mechanical Engine Hour Meter AC/DC 8-80V 2" Gauge

Perfect replacement for my swl 3220 skid steer, rebuilt the engine and pump and need to start fresh with the hours

I installed this on a Carolina Skiff boat that had no hour meter. The meter was clocked up to 19.4 hours to match the boat's hours when it came out of the shop for it's first oil change/service. That went pretty well. Installation is easy as long as you can determine where to connect the "plus" side of the meter. That connection must only have voltage when the engine is switched on - it doesn't have to be running, just when the key is in the "on" position. I don't want to confuse anyone by stating it that way, but that is a correct way to think about it. I cannot rate the accuracy because I just got the meter installed on 4/10/22. Next year for the 100 hour service I'll see how well it matches the onboard engine computer reading. Most important thing is the make sure you get the DC meter version for cars, boats, lawn equipment, etc. and the AC version for something around the house like a sump pump. Some comments were related to that problem.

I wish you could get one that mounts in better, the plastic mount is junky and sometimes dosnt stay but the meters seem to work good. I have one thats up to almost 80 hours with no issues.

Works great to help maintain oil changes on a new tractor engine. Not sure how to recalibrate for daylight savings time!!!

From the description, you'd think this would mount in a round hole. It does not. It has a weird flanged backplate that makes it very, very difficult to mount. Otherwise, it seems to work.

The meter installed easily and quickly. Unfortunately it is extremely inaccurate. I installed this as a test backup to an hour meter that came on my new boat. The boat’s meter was very accurate as checked by my stopwatch watching the tenths change. This gauge was a full 10% over after only 22 hours. This was somewhat crucial as I needed about 20 hours before using the boat to pull skiers. This meter indicated almost 26 hours at 22 hours. Don’t waste your money if you want an accurate meter. I’m being as fair as I can with 5 stars for ease of installation but 1 star for accuracy and 1 star overall. Unfortunately I didn’t save the packaging so returning it isn’t in the cards. For the record, this is the first negative review I have ever submitted on DOZENS of orders over the past 6 or 7 years! Gotta tell it like it is...
