Amazing Chair!
Wow, this chair is amazing. Like a lot of other people, I am working from home and needed a new chair for my home office. The assembly was fairly easy, i did have a little trouble with getting the back rest screwed to the seat, but with an extra pair of hands, we got it. I didn't expect much from a chair i purchased online, and mentally prepared myself for disappointment before even getting it. But man, this chair seems to be well made, super comfortable, amazing back support, and soft. I really love it! I'm even thinking about taking it with me to work once we start going back. I almost forgot to mention that the chair looks very nice as well. Super modern, and it seems to be built like a "gamer chair" without it looking like one. I love that the arms move. So when I'm done working I can scoot the chair right under the desk. And the wheels are so nice. I have wood floors and they just glide without scratching up the surface like my old hair. โค๏ธ I think the only thing that could use a bit of improvement is the tilt/rocking feature. I'm not a heavy person, and I barely use this feature. But gosh it's super hard to tilt back (for me). Maybe I just need to use it more to loosen it up a bit. Anyways, love the chair, I've been using it 5 days a week for about 2 weeks now. I hope it holds up!

Great Value!
This chair feels comfortable & sturdy & the quality is very good for the price! Pros: * Fast & easy to assemble. (The only difficulty was inserting the casters.) * Casters are made with rollerblade wheels that roll freely over carpet, yet are quiet & don't damage wood floors. * Armrests lift up completely out of the way in the up position. * Chair raises up higher than most others I looked at. * Chair base & cushions are sturdy & well made. * Chair is comfortable. Cushions could be softer but I can sit comfortably all day even though I have chronic back pain. * Chair is attractive & looks more expensive. The piping is nicely done & the stitching is snug and even. * Assembly instructions are easy to follow. Cons: * Cushions could be a little softer. * Casters were difficult to insert. I had to stomp repeatedly with my foot to snap them into the base. (I'm small so a larger, stronger person may not have as much trouble as I did.) * My coworkers like it so much that they take it from my classroom & use it when I'm not there! I'm very pleased with this chair & recommend it to anyone looking for a sturdy gaming/office chair in this price range. Several coworkers have asked where I got it & one of then ordered one for herself recently. Update 2 It is now 2025 and I am using this chair 6 hours a day, 5 days a week. I think I bought this chair in 2018 and I can't believe that it has been that long because the chair still looks and feels great! The chair frame and base and are just as sturdy and tight as it was when it was brand new and the upholstery still looks and feels fantastic! Update 1 I have been using this chair for 6 hours a day, four days a week, for several years and it still looks and feels like new!

Great chair, but needs better Quality Assurance
Update: Itโs been about a year and I felt like I needed to raise my original rating - I can confidently say now, other than the minor cosmetic issues I posted about that it came with, this chair has had no additional issues, and continues to be the best quality one in the house on comfort and flexibility. Definitely recommended if you can overlook the tiny issues it might ship with. โโโโโโโ So, disclaimer - i JUST got this chair today and assembled it so am reviewing this after only a few hours of usage. The chair itself seems very good. Great casters and probably one of the most comfortable chairs i've ever sat in... my complaint, however, is on QA of the product sent out. Upon unpacking i Immediately noticed a small tear in the leather that had been sealed and (what looked like) colored over with a sharpie or fabric pen. The tear does seem contained (and may have been missed on someone else) but it was one of the first things i noticed when pulling out to assemble. The next thing i noticed was one of the screws for the arm rest did not work as the threading was incorrect and too wide to work w. the parts inside the back of the chair (i had a replacement screw that worked fine though). Finally, one of the caps to cover the screws doesnt actually go on - the hole is too big for the plug - but i think some glue will fix it. Overall i'm hopeful for the chair - as i mentioned very comfortable and i love that the arm rests go up and down, however, giving it a 3 star only because for the price i feel the quality of the material should have been better or at least better checked before sent out to consumers.

Large, Well-Padded, Well Built (Still Great After TWO Years)
TWO-YEAR REVIEW (April 2022): Still pleased with this chair. Material has begun to crack on the inside of both armrests. Seat bottom seems to have compressed slightly. This is the only noticeable wear and tear even though it is in constant use. Still comfy, still rolls smooth as silk, swivels fine. Holds its height. No complaints. I'm happy with it. REVISED REVIEW AFTER ONE YEAR (April 2021): (I didn't realize that I already reviewed this chair shortly after I got it. I gave it 4 stars on first impression. Now I up that to 5 stars.) This is a great chair. I've had it for a year now. I'm in it at least 12 hours a day 7 days a week and it shows no wear. Heavy duty, plush, great styling, excellent design. Quite comfortable. Glides like butter on the roller blade wheels. You might want to hold onto your desk when you get in or you may find yourself across the room on hard floors. It's rare when I don't want armrests but it's great to be able to flip them out of the way. Cons: None really. I wish the trim had an option for red or blue, something other than white. But that's a personal preference. The cover of one of the armrest flip hinges fell off one day. I may have bumped it into something. It popped right back on. ORIGINAL REVIEW - April 2020: This chair is large! That's a plus. And comfortable. Controls are excellent. I love the thick, plush padding. That's needed if you spend much time in your chair. Of course the true test of this chair is long-term effectiveness of the gas lift. That's the reason I'm replacing my old chair which still looks snazzy and moves well but kept sinking until I forced it into a set height. FYI: Weight capacity is listed at 275 pounds on the box and at 240 on the assembly instructions and Amazon description. I've had the chair assembled for about an hour, so I cannot yet discuss long-term wear and tear or comfort. But I can talk about assembly. Instructions are adequate with good drawings. However, I was unable to put the back onto the seat in the order Nouhaus directed. I ended up taking the arm rests off the seat and putting them on the back first, then attaching that assembly to the seat. I found that much easier. Several of the bolts were recalcitrant and I was reluctant to force them. They did all, finally, work but I was nervous that I'd have one bad bolt that would nix the entire assembly. I wish color choices were available beyond basic black. However, my first impression is kudos to Nouhaus. I'm pleased. Looks like they've got a great chair.

Best chair I've owned for my office!
Update: Have had this chair for about a month and it is still so comfortable. The main thing is the cushion, the velvet and the waterfall seat design. It makes a big difference. The gaming chairs that you normally see - even the ones with the footrest are just not comfortable for sitting all day and frankly I never lay all the way back so that's not much a of a sell for me. This chair is a very good deal for the money. I'm so sad to see it's sold out because I wanted to buy another and can't find them anywhere. I was searching high and low for a comfortable chair for my home office to use for work and gaming. I have a rather high desk and it was near impossible to find a chair that raise up high enough that was comfortable. I read the reviews on this chair and saw people were saying how comfortable it is. I was definitely not disappointed - so soft and yet sturdy and supportive. I'm very happy with the chair and I'd definitely recommend it. The only thing that was a little frustrating was that the instructions had you putting the arm rests on the base first and then putting the back on. Was just really tough to line up the screws that way. So I actually ended up putting them on the back first and then the base. Worked like a charm.

Waited too long.
I should have pulled the trigger on this chair a couple years ago, but no I continued to use the antique court room chair my ex found at a yard sale and had refinished for me and it looks beautiful. I do expert witness work for lawyers and it never fails that at the last minute they need some report that has to be filed in the next day or two. This means I may be sitting in front of my computer for 5, 6 or even more than 10 hours to get what is needed for filing. I had a really nice orthopedic pad made to help with comfort but I would still get such a stiff back that not only did it hurt but I started getting numbness and tingling in my feet and toes. I was having lunch with a friend and she was talking about her son having a "date" to play Fortnite and he would play online with friends for hours. She sent me a picture of his gaming chair when she got home and there really isn't much difference sitting in front of a computer researching and writing reports for hours or playing video games online for hours. Prices for very similar looking chairs can vary by several hundred dollars and after reading product reviews for the short list I was considering I found that they were most likely the same chair, same manufacture, if not the same packaging then just different printing because the size and shipping weight were the same. Read the reviews and not just the 5 star reviews, I often start with the 1 & 2 star reviews first. It seems that I get details that are more honest on them than the 4 & 5 star reviews, I say this as I write a glowing 5 star review, which I can do because I didn't find any poor reviews that were not a simple one line criticism that seem most often to be buyers remorse than a real issue. This purchase was the least expensive of 4 I was considering and after a little research I'm sure they were all the same chair with $300+ separating this chair and the most expensive one. If I get 1 or 2 years of comfort and wear out of it before I move, I'll just by another and have it shipped to my new home and leave this for anyone who wants or can use it. Easy to assemble, rolls like a dream, holds its height adjustment, easily adjust to any height, arm rest are really comfortable and it's not too hot after sitting for a couple of hours. I would by this chair again and as my business is expanding I'll get them for my employees.

DO NOT BUY
DO NOT spend your money. Less than 1 year and chair is ripped. Comfortable but not worth it since it has already failed to last. Very disappointed.

Kinda narrow, but otherwise comfy, & pricey
Pros: * Padded, flip up handles feel good, & allow you to push the chair under a desk, leaving more space in the room. * Rollerblade wheels roll better, mar floors less, & sit you up higher than normal chair casters. Even rolls better on my padded plush carpeting. * Seat back is Bucket-Seat style, which is comfy for me - 5'5" tall, and my 5'10" spouse. * The Right hand height-adjusting lever works, but it's very hard, & you'll think it doesn't. (You have to pull it up til you think it's at the end, then pull it up some more - hard, & it will go.) Neutral (So far): * Seat fabric is velour, so it's likely to be just as hot as the pleather, though less likely to stick to me. The 'fabric' is only a narrow strip of velour in the middle, anyway, while all the sides & Armrests are pleather. The fabric is the main reason I bought this chair, as I hate sticking to my seat. Cons: * That Big Knob under the seat does nothing that I can tell. Quite Hard to twist, and I couldn't' tell any difference before or after I turned it - in either direction. * The left hand lever locks the seat from leaning back, but won't lock it in a reclined position - only straight up, so not sure I see any value in that. * The Right hand lever for height adjusting works, but it's very hard, & you'll think it doesn't. (You have to pull it up til you think it's at the end, then pull it up some more - Hard, & it will go.) * The seat is plenty wide dimensionally, but they've stuffed the outer edges with firm padding & a hard frame to keep you in. That applies pressure to your bottom & thighs, so you're squished into the center. (I'm 5'5" tall, & hefty, so my spread is looking for the full seat width. Unless you're pretty skinny, this is gonna press on your sides. Un-comfy legs/hips if I sit too long.) Overall, it's a pretty nice chair. Better for folks with skinny butts & thighs, but I like the raising arm rests enough to probably live with it being a squish from the sides. I'm hoping that it will 'break in' to match my posterior, after a while. If not, I may have to give it to my skinny son. : ) Assembly was guided by pictures, very easy mostly, and while I tried attaching the arms their way first, I did eventually have to attach the second side armrest to the chair back, before screwing it to the chair seat. I just couldn't align the screw holes while fighting gravity and the foam. Once I put the armrest on the seat back first, then gravity worked with me, and I was able to align the holes in the seat with the armrests much more easily. Another reviewer had mentioned this issue, and I should have listened. It was considerably easier with the arms attached to the back first, rather than the seat. One final note, the wheels were tough to get started. I had to put two casters into 2 adjoining legs before I could get one to go in. I turned it wheel side down, then pressed really hard - using my weight, before it would budge. Once I had the first two in, it went easier. They do roll nicely, though. Good luck.

The single most comfortable office chair I have ever sat in
The short version: I honestly have zero complaints about this chair whatsoever. The long version: Just like the headline says, I have never sat in a more comfortable office chair than this. I was getting awful knots in my back in my previous chair, as I have to be in it about eight hours a day for my job. I took a chance on this one thanks to the great reviews (although I was a little nervous because some people noted its suitability for taller people, as I'm only 5'4") and the chair is honestly worth every penny. It's quality craftsmanship and incredibly comfortable. I can sit in it for hours and not feel a twinge. I would like to note that if I wanted to put my feet flat on the floor, that would likely be an issue due to my short stature, but even before this chair I never sat that way; I use a footstool to brace my feet against to keep my back straight anyway, so the height of the chair isn't a problem for me. The roller blade wheels are brilliant, by the way. I would never have thought to use those on a desk chair but they protect my wood floor and roll so smoothly. As to the assembly of the chair, it was very easy and straightforward, although I did need to get a second person to help me put the back of the chair on -- not because it was heavy or anything, but because I needed them to brace the chair to stop it from moving while I assembled it. I will agree with other reviewers, however: ignore when the instructions tell you to put the back on first. Put the arms (loosely) on first, and then the back. Much easier that way. I can easily see this chair lasting me for years and years, but if I ever need another one, I'm buying this one (or one just like it) again.

Best wheels around!!
Just received my Nouhaus office chair with the Blade wheels, the office charis is great. I'm tired of the plastic casters that don't roll well, slide sideways, break, etc. These caster roll so easily. I have a plastic office chair matte but the plastic caster would not even roll properly and I am fighting it to roll the direction I want. With the Nouhaus, it rolls so comfortably. The seat is very comfortable and the arm rest are sturdy and not just a loose pin in place type arm rest. Love this chair!! Strongly recommend it!!!

Nice Chair
I just received my Nouhaus Velour chair. It was extremely well packaged and I appreciated the included Allan key. The chair was very easy to assemble - everything lined up well and it was very quick (maybe 10 minutes). The chair looks really nice! The roller blade wheels are really excellent. The chair feels very comfortable (I'm 6.1", 200lbs). The seat feels well padded and contoured. I like how it reclines and the back support feels good. Plenty of height adjustment. I wonder how the arm rests' padding will hold up over the long run, but time will tell. They are comfortable now. Overall, I'm impressed with the chair and I think it is good option worth considering if you're looking for a reasonably priced office chair.

Nice style, confortable, and not to expensive!!
Very comfortable chair for the price, seem to be made to last. I bought one for myself and my girlfriend who's working from home tried it and now I have to order a second one for her. We both fall in love with the design and it's good for long hours working or gaming . Really happy about my choice! Thank you Nouhaus!

If God needed a Chair ๐บ
Most comfortable chair I have ever owned. Super easy to put together. Wheels are not great in carpet, but that is to be expected I guess. Super premium material and feel. Truly a masterpiece for even God, but I'll take it too.
