These clamps are not designed to tighten to enormous pressure, just enough pressure to keep the materials held together when you join them. The advantage of using this clamp over others is that you can join two different size pieces and you can independently screw each piece down. This proves superior to the ones where you have to try to hold two pieces of wood and also screw one screw that tightens on both pieces.The box that arrived indicated it was Shop Fox, a Grizzly product. After going to Harbor Freight, they sell the exact same clamp as item #38661. It's the exact same clamp, color and all for $9.99.
