Does the difference in accuracy justify the difference in cost?** A: It depends what you want to use it for. Woodpeckers square is accurate down to one thousandth of an inch. I use it verify the that tools and equipment are square. Speed squares are used mainly dimensional lumber (2"x4") work. The woodpecker square is worth every penny to me. I would not dare to use it to frame a house. I would use it to see if my framing square or speed square is accurate. **Q: can the smaller triangle be flipped so the angle face is opposite the larger triangle face, reattach it and use it as a speed square?** A: It’s screwed in the three corners, you Can flip it as it is drilled all the way thru. I Wouldn’t think you would use a highly precise instrument as a speed square. It was extremely helpful in setting up my Miter Saw and Table Saw.On my Miter Saw this helped me dial in the Miter so tight that a 5 cut test results in a calculated error of just under 0.001" per 1" cut. As far as I'm concerned, that's good for any saw, of any quality. I can now cut perfect miters.This also really Elevated what I could squeeze out of my SawStop table saw.Next I turned to my Empire TrueBlue square -- using these precision triangles I was able to determine that my Empire Square wasn't perfectly true. The precision triangles showed me where to hone to true up my everyday Empire square.Ultimately because of the price, I won't use these everyday. However when I want a good reference for dialing in my other tools, this will be one of my Go To tools. I really couldn't be happier. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good triangle *by N***E on September 12, 2013* Woodpeckers tools are *always* precise, and these triangles are no exception. The arrive in an mdf case, which protects them partially in a tool drawer. The case is a contoured bottom, with an acrylic "button" which holds the triangles in the case. The top is unprotected, so they can't be placed in with a bunch of screwdrivers or pliers. Of course, like virtually all Woodpeckers tools, they are made from CNC'd aluminum alloy. Thus, care must be taken to avoid damage to the soft metal. The alloy seems to be as tough as aluminum (without titanium) gets, but it's still aluminum.Woodpeckers does not try to be a price leader, but rather a quality leader, and they succeed. Their tools aren't cheap, but they are quality.
