She caught on right away just with the vibration. I have only corrected her a few times in the several months I have had this e collar - Please make sure you know what you are doing with e collars as they can really screw a dog up if you dont know what you are doing. It has correction levels from 0-100 - the highest I have had to go is up to a 6 - which I can barely feel on my neck. I am not going to put anything on my dog that I have not used on myself first - them I know what it feels like. The 6 is barely detectable - just feels like a very LIGHT static shock. She is a belgian malinois so she is intelligent, but his collar is really amazing. She knows that she gets more freedom when she puts it on. I tease her and try to put it on the other dogs and she puts her head out and pushes the other dogs so she can put it on. We have been conditioning our 6 month old shepherd with it and the stimulation appears to be very consistent (she has been responding to level 4 in all of our training sessions so far). We did have to purchase some heavy duty hair ties and rivets to make some adjustments to it so that it can be snug on her neck but not too tight. Use it with my two dogs all the time. Especially when letting them off leash.A few things to note:1. You must train your dog extensively with it. I use it as recall and to stop bad behavior along with their normal training.2. You can get attachments so the shock is more spread out and not as sharp.
