I'm pleasantly surprised to say that it's been about 2-1/2 months and I haven't had to turn on the filter again. It's still in the aquarium (just in case), but I'm shocked at how well it worked. The internal foam filter was actually still clean after use. I recommend using this along with a regular aquarium filter. I would highly recommend this UV filter to anyone who has algae problems. I wish I had a before and after picture to show the results, but believe me, it really worked that great! You can control the pressure of the air, which is good. The noise is pretty silent.
