    Did the job

We had wasps for two and just couldn’t get rid of them. This did the job. You need to put a lot of carrier bags in it to get the shape. Great buy.

It worked at first until AUGUST!!!!

I bought two and I am very skeptical but some of the reviews were fairly positive and I don't like to kill or spray wasp nests as it is cruel. I hung one over my patio doors I like to keep open in the summer and the other at the back where the back door is. My house is wooden with shingles and I ALWAYS get wasp nests every year out the back over these doors. This year......no wasp nests....I know the wasp population plummeted this year, so that might have something to do with it.However, in AUGUST!!! The wasps all started to come into the house and flew straight under this product. The local tea room has 3 hanging outside and I was MOBBED by wasps while eating cream tea, so perhaps they work by stopping wasps building the nests earlier in the year, but when the wasps get aggressive in August, NOTHING will get between wasps and jam, so I am giving it three stars as I dont think it stops AUGUST wasps, but maybe earlier year wasps.

This is a local house for local people...

....there’s nothing for wasps here!!!Having noticed the stripey little bleederstrying to set up camp in my house this last month, I decided to take preventative action to prevent their invasion, rather than under taking the arduous task of evicting them once they’ve moved in, like we had to a few years back when we found they’d taken up residence in our attic. Even after being served their eviction notice, they would wait until the restraining order has lapsed, then try moving back in again. It would appear that even this far on, our address has been passed down the generations as we keep finding wasps and more worryingly Queens, trying to muscle in on my territory. They want our food, our drinks, our house and our first borns and are prepared to fight you to the death for it. Just like that one troublesome family everyone prays won’t move into their street, we had to do something quick to try and stop them before they take over the neighbourhood.I saw them squeezing into a small drainage hole in the underside of my window frames, however blocking that off only made them start looking for a new way in and thus finding their way into the bedroom, which then became a stand off. Killing one basically brings forth the wrath of their brethren and before you know it you have wasps bricking your windows, smashing your car up, harassing the dog & waiting, tooled up, outside your front door for you to emerge when you run out of food.I searched Amazon for a waspinator, having seen them advertised end of last year. It’s been one of those things I thought I’d try and never got around to purchasing. The sudden invasion of scouts looking for somewhere to take over however quickly prompted me to find the wish list item and buy it ASAP.So, upon arrival I read the instructions to see what I needed to do.Fairly straight forward - you get one waspinator in the pack, which is folded. Open it out, undo the pull cord & stuff it with something to hold the shape.Firstly my partner scoffed at it, as it looks like it’s printed with a grey camo pattern. He was convinced the wasps wouldn’t be, well, convinced. I on the other hand decided that wasps are more brawns than brains, so figured it is probably more than enough to out smart them.Still, we put some rubbish bags in it to fill it out, which surprised me for how big it is. I honestly thought it would be smaller - it’s about the size of a watermelon, so will need to be hung up high enough not to get in the way.Next problem was the actual hanging tab. I made the mistake of pulling it to straighten it out, however it’s not very well secured in, so I ended up pulling it off. No biggie however as we glued it back in place, but bear in mind it’s not very well secured should you encounter strong winds or someone perhaps a bit heavy handed. So, pull cord at the bottom needs to be tightened and tucked away and then the “nest” needs to be put somewhere suitable. We chose the underside of our lean-too porch, as we could put it up above the door, out of head height & also fairly protected from the weather.A hook in the ceiling made for easy hanging. It’s now been up for about 2 weeks and we’ve seen 1 wasp. It came swaggering about the place, throwing everyone the evils, went over to inspect the “nest” and then promptly left. We were dubious if it was going to come back with its mates to laugh at our pathetic attempts at scare tactics or worse still - set up home in the convenient new house we’d installed for them. However we have not had any returns as yet. Maybe word has gotten around that there’s a new swarm in town and from the size of the new hive that’s appeared & the speed at which it was constructed, these guys are not to be messed with.Granted the weather hasn’t been great since we hung it up, but so far so good.As always, I continue to edit and update my reviews, if or when things change, so if it transpires that they were just off to Benidorm on a lads holiday and haven’t actually moved out the neighbourhood, then I will amend this review with my findings. Same with longitivtiy of the nest - if it doesn’t last more than a few months then I will update accordingly. On face value it appears to be working & at just under £7, I’ll be more than happy if I get a year out of this, as we spent way more than that having the last lot evicted and then trying to prevent them getting back in, ever since. After all - I’d rather pay £7 on preventative measures than £40 on a cure and even more money on vets bills because the dog hasn’t yet worked out not to try and eat the jalpeano flavoured sky raisins.UPDATE: Having now has this up for approx 4 months I feel I can now update you on its success without tempting fate. So far this summer (which granted, hadn’t been the best) we have seen 1 wasp. We’ve had the back door open most days and this is hanging above it. 1 wasp in 4 months is a success in my opinion and long may it last! The wasp in question didn’t hang about and may have been lost as it soon cleared out again without any issues - which is an improvement on previous years experiences where they started squatting in my roof space and then tried to force us to be the ones to move out by dropping on my in the shower or when on the toilet (a vulnerable time for most people, let alone when you have something with a shank for a bum getting all up in your face at the same time). So, if this is the sign of things to come then it was every penny well spent and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them or even buy another one next year if this one doesn’t survive the winter.
