Aluminum Safety Cutter with Ceramic Blade

We use this all the time to open boxes and break down boxes. We’ve had it for 2.5 years and still going strong! When it first got delivered, I thought it would be cheap bc it wasn’t metal but it’s actually great that it’s not and even safe for my elderly mother to use! And the price is right!

My Experience I mainly use this box cutter for opening packages and cutting cardboard. It’s lightweight, easy to grip, and the ceramic blade feels safer than traditional metal blades, especially for quick household use. The blade retracts smoothly and cuts cleanly through tape and boxes without snagging. I get about 2 orders a week from Amazon so I open quite a few boxes and wanted to try something different than a basic box cutter. This cuts fine and has no problems. The only thing I don’t like is that you can’t choose to keep the ceramic blade out, you have to keep your thumb pressed up while using.

Great Box Cutters for packages

This is a very handy box opener. The ceramic blade is spring loaded and unfortunately does not have a lock position that allows it to stay open. That is the reason why I do not give it five stars.

I bought to open pill bottles, packages etc. It is well designed and comfortable in my hand. Easy to operate. HOWEVER, the best thing about this safety blade was getting it out of the package! Kudos to whomever designed that packaging. As I age, I find I am buying things to make my life a little easier. Unfortunately, when I get something that has plastic glued to whatever it takes a lot of pressure to get it out. This was very easy. Thanks again Westcott, good job.

I took a chance and tried this ceramic (plastic) cutter and I am seriously impressed. The size is perfect, locking mechanism works and it cuts like butter. The big plus is you don't have to worry about cutting yourself. Definitely worth it because it lasts on one blade so far over a year

Difficult to use. You have to keep constant pressure on the button to extend the blade, which makes it awkward to use. A locking mechanism would be better. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Perfeito como eu imaginava

Gostei muito.Vou usar como instrumento de desenho mas já abri uma caixa com ele.

É bom e vai servir para o que eu quero que é usar em desenhos. Mas o ponto negativo é que ele não trava. Se eu tivesse visto os comentários anteriores, eu teria comprado de outra marca.
