The case seems to be good quality plastic. Alkaline batteries fit perfect. Metal parts OK, good contact between them and the batteries.Haven't tried it with rechargeable batteries yet. If I do, I'll update this review.It has a sliding lid. There is a little hole, it is obviously designed for a tiny screw which would keep the lid in its place, but the screw is not provided.
