I am an ASE certified tech and this was my own car. I figured the money saved would be worth the time for the install. I was wrong. This unit came as a "Big Hawks" M604-8150. It looks exactly the same as the picture shows. When I looked at the wiring diagram for the 13 pin connector it listed the correct colors for the connector but the function for the first 6 pins was labeled only as "central door lock". No one could install this unit on any vehicle with only this information. I turned the page over and saw 4 separate diagrams outlining different scenarios using 6 wires from a box called "car alarm". What really surprised me was the wire colors shown in the 4 examples did not match the wire colors on the previous page nor did they match the unit I received. Again, I feel no one could install this using only the information given. There was basically no usable information given. An internet search shed some light on installing this unit using wire colors that I did not have. I had to take a leap of faith and assume the wire colors for the first 6 pins shown on previous installations correlated directly to the wire colors I had. In other words Pin #1 was Pin #1 regardless of color. I still did not know at this point which pin from the other color scheme was actually Pin #1. I set up a test on a table using a 12 volt battery and some test lamps. I used the information given by a previous reviewer Mr. Berrios who determined how to produce negative (ground) impulses for both lock and unlock. I was soon able to conclude how the 6 wire colors correlated. I listed the color chart on the attached diagram. This overcame the first hurdle. The next problem I saw was how to mimic the lock signal for my car. This particular car uses a switch for lock and unlock that uses a single signal wire (negative or ground) to the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM knows the difference because the unlock signal is a straight ground while the lock signal passes thru a 470 ohm resistor before going to the BCM. This is a modified ground signal. I had to install a resistor (not included) on the lock wire coming from the M604. The next problem had to do with the parking lamps. I wanted the visual confirmation. The M604 outputs a positive signal for parking lamps using 2 wires. My parking lamps signal is a negative output from the BCM to a relay on the other side of the car. I wanted to keep my installation at the BCM. I used a Bosch type 5 pin relay (not included) to translate the positive signal from the M604 to a negative signal output. I also completed the wiring connection for the trunk release which was a positive output signal from the M604. This was correct for my application. After all needed wires were connected, I removed the remaining wires from the M604 connector. I tested the operation of lock, unlock, parking lamps, and trunk release. Everything worked except the trunk release. Out of frustration I pointed the remote transmitter at the car and held the button in. After 5 seconds the trunk released! There was no mention of a timed reaction. I'm OK with the way everything functions. I think it is a shame for this item to be sold with such poor documentation. I have included a diagram that works at least for my application. I hope it helps someone else. If a customer had brought this in for me to install in his or her car, the labor bill would have been substantial. It took me almost an entire Saturday to research, test, and install this unit. If I were to do it again, I would have spent the extra money, replaced the original module, and enjoyed my Saturday doing something else. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good, Cheap Keyless Entry System *by A***E on April 24, 2017* No frills or real features (window roll up? Really), but if all you need is basic keyless entry, this will do the job. A big plus is that it has onboard relays to control light flash, door locks and one accessory. It will interface with just about any door lock system, factory or after market, if you know how to install them. I have had one in the wife's truck for over year, just installed one in my in-laws SUV, and plan on getting one with a pair of solenoids to retrofit my 25 year old beater truck.Note: They keyfobs look just like mid 2000's Kia and Hyundai keyfobs. I was actually able to use a spare key to replace the shell on my Hyundai keyfob. Since it's cheaper to buy the whole security system than to order one replacement keyfob... well, you figure it out. ### ⭐⭐⭐ The installation instructions are not the best but I figured it out wit the help of ... *by A***S on April 27, 2016* I purchased this unit for my 95 chevy lumina since it did have power doors but no keyless entry (base model). The installation instructions are not the best but I figured it out wit the help of the Haines manual I have for the car. The small annoyance I had with it is the way the system is set up to lock and unlock the doors. As per the description, the door should lock at every "lock" press on the remote, however it only does it on the first one. It's the same with the unlock button. If the car is opened with the key, you would have to first unlock it with the remote and then would be able to lock it again. Maybe it's just me but I'd like it to actuate the locks at every press. I did not test the trunk release function.
