I've been looking for something like this for some time. Being a keen hill walker and fell runner I'm acutely aware of how much (at a kilo per litre) drinking water weighs you down. This is bad enough on a long hot day - let alone when you are planning going out into the wilds overnight or longer. When offered the opportunity to test a free sample, I immediately snapped it up. This thing is LIGHT. It came in at 80g on my scales (after being used, so presumably containing some residual water). I found it dead easy to use. It appeared to clear debris in water. I tried with some washing up water and could taste a little residual soapiness, so not sure how effective it is for liquid contaminants. The only real catch I can see is that the design means you can't clean water to carry with you, you have to carry contaminated water and drink it through the straw on the move. I can see potential cross-contamination risks with this. Many users recommend the Sawyer product over this one, but I believe they cost a little more.

These were bought for Armageddon. I sincerely hope we never have to use them! However, they look and feel as if they’ll keep us alive, using the water from our stream.

As described, seems fine, lightweight and portable.

Great purchase for anyone who likes the outdoors. Great size to pop in a rucksack!

Excellent - a previous one didn't work that well, you need lungs of a whale, this was is great.

ok aangezien jij dit leest , zoek jij lifestraw :) zoek niet verder , dit is wat je nodig hebt , geloof mij ik ben zeer kieskeurig en ik vind dit geweldig , iedereen MOET zo 1tje in zijn bezit hebben , ter komt een tijd dat dit meer waard dan goud gaat hebben ,

Looks ok, but the package leaves the mouthpiece on the Lifestraw unprotected. I would have preferred a sealed product, just to be sure its not tampered with or potentially dirty.
