The company showed demos of reliable object detection even on a moving platform, such as the β€œface tracking fan”, and after many days of tweaks, I can say this chip is simply unsuitable for such a use case. The models are simply far too unreliable. At high confidence configurations, it will simply miss anything but a perfectly shaped, positioned, and illuminated face. At lower confidence, elbows and shadows on walls become faces. Bounding boxes are highly inaccurate, and jittery, bouncing back and forth, and growing in strange directions for moments.
