Keychron V6 Max Wireless
As someone who spends a lot of time typing for work and personal projects, I've always been on the lookout for the perfect keyboard that balances performance, aesthetics, and comfort. After testing out a number of options, the Keychron V6 Max Wireless Custom Mechanical Keyboard has truly impressed me. Hereโs my in-depth take on why it stands out: Build Quality and Design The V6 Max has a premium, solid feel right out of the box. The aluminum frame gives it a sturdy weight, making it feel durable without being too heavy. I went for the Gateron switches, and the keycaps are made of high-quality ABS plastic that feels smooth to the touch, but not too slippery. The compact 65% layout saves desk space without sacrificing the crucial arrow keys, which is a big plus for me. What stands out to me most, however, is the RGB lighting. The colors are vibrant and customizable to fit any mood or aesthetic. The underglow on the keyboard is a nice touch, and the effects are smooth. Iโve enjoyed playing around with the various preset modes, but the ability to customize my own lighting patterns is really fun, especially for late-night coding sessions. Typing Experience Iโve used a variety of mechanical keyboards over the years, and Iโve never quite experienced anything like the Keychron V6 Max. The Gateron Brown switches are smooth with just the right amount of tactile feedback without being too loud. Typing feels satisfying and responsive, and I find myself getting into a nice rhythm much faster than I did on my previous keyboard. If youโre used to quieter keys, this might not be the perfect switch for you, but the sound is crisp without being overly clacky or distracting. The stabilizers on the larger keys (like the spacebar and enter) are well-tuned, so thereโs no wobble or rattlingโsomething I really appreciate since I do a lot of typing. Wireless and Connectivity The V6 Max supports both Bluetooth and wired connections. Iโve mainly used it wirelessly, and the Bluetooth connection has been rock solid. Pairing with my laptop was super easy, and I didnโt experience any dropouts or lag during my daily use, whether typing emails or gaming. The keyboard can connect to up to 3 devices, and switching between them is as simple as pressing a button, which is fantastic if you work across multiple devices (I regularly switch between my laptop, PC, and tablet). The battery life is impressive too. Iโve been using it wirelessly for over a week before needing to recharge, and thatโs with moderate to heavy usage. For someone like me who is always on the go, this is a huge win. Customization Options As a custom mechanical keyboard enthusiast, one of my favorite things about the V6 Max is the high level of customization it offers. You can easily swap out the keycaps for your preferred set (itโs compatible with most standard Cherry MX keycap sets), and you can even replace the switches if you want a different feel. This gives the keyboard a truly personal touch and allows me to adapt it to my specific typing style. Additionally, the hot-swappable switch feature makes it a breeze to experiment with different switches without the need for soldering. Iโve swapped between Gateron Reds, Browns, and even some linear switches just to see how each one feels, and itโs incredibly easy to do. Ergonomics While not a full ergonomic keyboard, the V6 Maxโs compact design and adjustable feet give me a good typing angle, and the keys are well-spaced. The only thing Iโd recommend is getting a separate wrist rest if you type for long hours, as this doesnโt come with one. But that's a minor thing, and I find that a wrist rest actually improves my comfort even more. Price vs. Performance Given its customizability, wireless options, and premium build quality, the Keychron V6 Max is reasonably priced. Youโre getting a high-quality mechanical keyboard with premium features without paying the absurd prices some other custom keyboards ask for. For anyone whoโs considering jumping into the world of mechanical keyboards or upgrading their setup, the V6 Max is a fantastic value. Final Thoughts Overall, Iโm incredibly satisfied with the Keychron V6 Max. It delivers a perfect balance of aesthetics, performance, and customizability. Whether youโre typing for work, gaming, or just enjoying a typing experience that feels satisfying, this keyboard does it all. If you're looking for a wireless mechanical keyboard with a premium build that doesnโt break the bank, the Keychron V6 Max is definitely worth considering.

Best keyboard I have ever owned
As a developer with over 40 years of experience, I rely on my Mac Mini Pro as my primary desktop but frequently remote into Windows PCs and occasionally IBM i terminal emulators. Switching between macOS and Windows keyboard layouts quickly and often is essential for my workflow. The Keychron V6 Max solved this perfectlyโI programmed a simple key combo (Fn + Esc) to toggle between the two layouts effortlessly. I absolutely love the intuitive web-based interface for customizing the keyboard; no need to install any software, which keeps my setup clean. The build quality and keycap design are stunningโpremium feel without compromise. The multifunctional knob for volume control and muting is a game-changer for daily use. I planned to stick with wired mode (which works great), but the wireless connection via 2.4 GHz has been rock-solid and reliable. Battery life is impressive, easily lasting weeks on a single charge. The brown switches provide that satisfying tactile feedback I crave, and the removable keycaps make deep cleaning a breeze when needed. I'd happily buy more Keychron products and recommend this keyboard to colleagues without hesitation. A fantastic all-around performer!

Great key action and quieter.
I'm really picky about the keyboard I use. I like a tactile feel that is reminiscent of the old, original IBM keyboards. I had a couple of knock-offs like those for several years, but this keyboard is quieter and has a nice heavy feel. Not so flimsy. The key action isn't quite as springy, but it's still satisfying. I really like this keyboard.

Keychron technical failure
This is a fantastic keyboard, I have only had it a year. Two months ago, the "n" started acting up, at first I thought is was a connection thing. Of course just a few days after the warranty expired, the "n" has almost stopped working, I have to hit it 4-5 times before it will type. This is an expensive keyboard, it should not die after a year of low use, not playing games on it, only using it for work emails and general typing. I am very upset and disappointed.

Almost perfect: lights do not shine through keycaps
Firstly, this keyboard looks, feels and sounds amazing. The brown switches are satisfying and the full-sized-ness fits most of my needs. I'm a power user and if I could I would use just the keyboard for all my needs. This keyboard comes pretty close. Gripes: 1. My biggest issue with this keyboard is that the backlight doesn't shine through the keys preventing me from using this keyboard at night. Oversight on such a pricey product. 2. Being a power user I am missing a button next to Right CTRL to do a right click. 3. Programming buttons is not as easy as they say. 4. The first time I got this keyboard the Mac/Win switch did not work which took me a good week to troubleshoot since I couldn't imagine it was a faulty switch (I know, my fault). Luckily Amazon remedied it replaced the keyboard with a working switch.

The V6 Max is a great Keyboard, but it took some learning on my end.
The previous 1-star review that I wrote talked about wanting to get a programable and mechanical keyboard without breaking the bank. The V6 Max is the one that I decided to get. At first there were some issues with getting connected with Keychronโs Launcher. When I first connected the V6 Max to the Launcher with the 2.4ghz connection, I was asked to load the JSON file. However, the JSON file wouldnโt load, and it seemed that I would be unable to program the keyboard. This has now been resolved, and Iโm no longer asked to load the JSON file. Part of the issue with programing the keyboard was my lack of knowledge. After connecting with Keychorn support, I learned that programing the keyboard with the Launcher only works when using the wired connection. The Launcher will not open properly when using the 2.4ghz or Bluetooth connection. The V6 Max now works as expected and Keychron support taught me how to program both layers of the keyboard. My problem was trying to program a macro to layer 3. I had created the macro and was on layer 3; however, after pressing โSubmitโ the macro would end up on layer 2. The problem was that I needed to be in the โKaymapโ tab and assign the macro to a layer 3 key after it had been created. Now that I understand how to program the keyboard, there have been no other issues. I'm happy with the keyboard and the help Keychron support provided. Things to remember with Keychron keyboards: 1. Must have a wired connection to program the keyboard. 2. Create the Macro in the โMacroโ tab and then assign it to a key in the โKeymapโ tab.

Best keyboard on the market currently - but I had to remove the battery...
stop putting batteries in keyboards. stop trying to make wireless mechanical keyboards a thing. a true mech enthusiast will NEVER use a wireless keyboard. it makes NO SENSE. You can't just say "oh i will use it wired only" because the lipo battery at 100% all the time will eventually swell and possibly start a fire. You need to remove it before that happens. I took out the 8 screws, unplugged the battery and it was very annoying to get off. I finally took a plastic credit card and slid it underneath and slowly worked the battery out. Then I cut up an old tee shirt into the same size and used it to fill the space the battery was in for acoustics. NOW this keyboard is the best keyboard on the planet and let me tell you why. - Plastic keyboards actually sound better than metal. IYKYK - this keyboard has acoustic foam out the box and gasket mounting....and Jupiter browns. this is an END GAME KEYBOARD - Full size is the only usable size. People who use less just want to impress others on reddit. This keyboard thocks out the box! I might tape mod it to get an even deeper sound...

Simply Amazing.
This keyboard has been great. It was the first Keychron I got introduced to, and I feel like it is the perfect keyboard. Never given me an issue and is quite easy to juggle between my Windows and Mac. Love it. Would definitely recommend it to anyone unsure. Never looked back.
