Well made and engravable! *by L***N on Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2020* It’s well made, pretty and solid. However, it’s not perfectly shiny and flawless. It kind of has a warn look to it, which isn’t terrible. It looks somewhat old and tarnished. And it has a few scratches and imperfections, but it suits this item well. Kind of gives it an old, family heirloom appearance. — I had planned on engraving the front, back, and inside. However, the back has a little dot indentation in the middle, and the engraver said they couldn’t do the back because it might catch on their machine. A skilled engraver at a jewelry store could probably work around that, however. But I needed it done last minute, and my only option was to have it done at “Things Remembered,” which I do not recommend. It cost $50 to have it engraved there, and I was limited to 5 lines, 12 letters/spaces per line. A jeweler probably could have done a better job for a better price. But I definitely do recommend this compass.
