It means I don't have to order parts and wait for them to show up, or pay $9.95 in shipping for $0.35 worth of SMD passives. While this kit covers just about any value of resistor you might need for doing repairs, it's also made up of the most common size (1206) and even when you need a slightly smaller resistor you can usually squeeze one of these into the space available even if it means having to tombstone it and use a little jumper wire.The resistors are well organized and clearly labeled. I haven't gone through every single value but of the 15 or so pieces I've used so far, the labeled value on the page matched the resistors it contained. I've found that it's really easy to lose one of these smd devices because they are so small, and I didn't want to be in the middle of a project and discover one of the resistors had mysteriously disappeared. This is probably overkill, but I think I'm covered if it does happen. I previously purchased some smd capacitors (for the same reason) but they just came in separate strips. This package have sheets of resistor strips labelled and stored in a small binder.
