The Technical description on Amazon is flawed/wrong, as it implies you have to supply batteries; you don't. **Q: Is it possible to recharge sun king home 120 battery through a method other than included solar panels (i.e. usb?)** A: The battery box has two six-volt DC charge input ports (where the solar panel plugs in, plus a spare port), one USB output port, and two 12-volt DC output ports (one of which is used for the included lights.) You would need to manufacture a cable compatible on one end with the six-volt input ports and supply the cable a six-volt DC source of power that did not exceed 15 watts of power (2.5 amps at 6 volts.) This would be an interesting (if perhaps pointless) project for an electrical hobbyist, but is nothing I would advocate otherwise. Really, in bright sun the included solar panel charges the battery quite quickly and easily. **Q: can you upgrade the solar pannel? if so maximum wattage allowed?** A: I assume so, but why? This kit is designed as a well balanced, self contained unit for the purposes stated - 3 lamps and recharging - and it works well for that. If you upgrade the existing 12W panel you may (??) need to upgrade the battery and the built in controller too, so you'll be into a custom system, especially if you want to add more lamps. If that's the case, you may find it more efficient to purchase a larger capacity integrated system that meets our needs, or build a custom system. **Q: Our lights shut off by there selfs.
